Before I saw this DVD concert, Nirvana was just a name for me. I knew about Kurt Cobain, I knew that a few of their members later started Foo Fighters, but that was all.
But now I`ve seen! :) And that was all it took to really understand the legend-status of this man. They played lots of covers that night, but whatever they`re playing, Kurts outstanding voice and ability to express emotions through music blew me away. His versions of Meatball Puppets` songs; lake of fire and plateau are a lot better than the original versions. This performance, which took place less than five months before Kurt died, has become legendary, and everyone who likes Nirvana just a little bit should definitely own this DVD!

Now this film did take me a while to warm up to. The first two times I tried to watch it I was rather bored, though whether this is because I'm a woman, I'm not entirely sure. However the third time I watched it all the way through, and it honestly blew my mind. Cusack's performance's in movies are generally underrated, but here he generates utter brilliance, so much so that he kind of ruined the book for me, as I kept hearing his American voice for an English character.

I bought this DVD for my mother who is a lifelong Frankie Vaughan fan and sat down to watch it with her. Although I didn't know anything about Frankie this is a wonderful DVD that is full of music and performances and captures the very essence of what a special man he must have been. The programme itself is about ninety minutes long and the interviews and footage are first rate. Some of the photos are amazing and must have come from the family collection. As well as his singing fame Frankie Vaughan also negotiated a knife amnesty in Glasgow in the 1960's and gave his royalties away to the boys clubs. Not something you can imagine from many artists these days. In addition to the DVD there are also full performances of Frankie singing and a collection of long ... Read More:
