this is the best adaptation of one of Dickens' classics that I have ever seen. I saw it once on t.v. in the United States and have never been able to find it since then. When a production can grab & keep your interest while losing nothing, it is quite a feat. I just wish something like this was around when I had to read David Copperfield!

Yes, it may be the case that Opeth are releasing a DVD of an album that I spent money on about a year ago. But you know what? I find myself not caring. With a band with such quality and incredible musicianship, I think it is worth it. The CD of The Roundhouse Tapes gave me a taster, got me licking my lis, and now the DVD is reminding me yet again how significant this band are, not only in the world of progressive metal, but music in general (though your average punter would never know it!) Having seen them live this week (the week I write this) on the Watershed Tour, I know how fantastic an Opeth show is.
I have Lamentations, and it was a great show. The Roundhouse Tapes takes it to the next level. I am most annoyed that I wasn't in that particular show as I'm sure ... Read More:

I enjoy Daniel Auteil's work, so I was drawn to this film. It's understated, rather dry and full of analytical speeches about feelings - Beart is beautiful and temperamental, just as you expect your great French actresses to be. All the characters are a bit weird, then again musical people do seem a bit eccentric to non-musical people. I watched the film in three sittings, and felt I had been uplifted in a noble, ponderous, French way.

If you like incredibly stupid films with sad and very low brow "comedy" with almost no plot to it then this is the film for you!!!
I knew from the trailer that this would be a dumbed down film, but this was REALLY dumb, think Bill and Ted's adventure (which I like) and divide the comedy by at least half and times the stupidity level by at least 4 and you'll have a good idea as to how good this is or NOT!!!
I like Mike Myers, I own all of the Austin Powers films to date and love that kind of humour, Wayne's World is almost totally devoid of any of this humour, it's no surprise that his co-star for this film Dana Carvey has hardly worked in film since Wayne'e World 2 as he had very little talent in the first place.
This is Springsten at his most engaging. The production is superb and the E Street band are all there, including Nils Lofgren who dicreetly does so much to build the Springsteen sound. Even Patti appears more than just window dressing. OK we all have favourite Springsten tracks and I would like to have seen Sherry Darling and Wreck On The Highway on the DVD but there are other songs that I am not/less familiar with which are great. He laughs, he sings, he takes the piss out of the New Yorkers in comparing them to his home state of 'Noo Joyzy' but he gives 100% and carries this gig effortlessly from start to finish. This must have taken place before 9/11 as there is no reference, let alone any songs from 'The Rising'. Buy with confidence for full entertainment value and comprehensive representation ...
