Being a big Nirvana fan, this is firm favourite in my DVD collection. It is really well filmed and edited, and it really gives you a good insight into Cobain's character, and how he interacts with the rest of the band. Not like the usual "hard-core punk rocking" that Nirvana is usually known for, this almost "Nirvana toned down" gig had me in awe. Being the last performance Cobain did before his death the month following, the performance really does have sentimental value. It could quite rightly be said that it was his "best and last" performance. I would also defo recommend "Nirvana-Live!Tonight... This is a great video of a band in their prime, recorded in 1972 the video quality was surprisingly good although the video its self has a couple of drops in it at certain times, and there is a cheesy video effect used during one of the solos, the picture is pin sharp and obviously first generation so good marks for that. The performance is excellent and at 64 minutes does leave you wanting more. The sound is stereo only which is a shame but understandable given the age. However instead of a 'lossless' PCM sound track they have used a 'lossy' Dolby stereo soundtrack which leaves the bass a bit fluffy at times. There is enough space on the disc for both, but at the price this is a minor quibble. No extras on this disc. Overall a good honest document ... Read More: >>More Details

Where, oh where, do i begin?? I have to confess, I'm not a fan of Anne Rice's novels. But I did watch Interview with a Vampire and, whilst the film was camper than Lord Baden Powell on a scout mission, i found it quite enjoyable. So, when I saw the next installment coming out, I decided to go and see it in the cinema with my mate Doug who has also just posted a review. Awful. Absolutely awful. Why was Stuart Townsend cast for a start? I guess the filmmakers wanted a relatively unknown actor to play Lestat. Well, the film must have done really well as Stuart's a household name now!!!! I don't think so. I only gave it 1 because I couldn't give it 0. After all the hype and publicity surrounding his solo career I was interested to see what all the fuss was about. Not being a Floyd fan, (you had to be out of your bonce on mandrax or similar to get off on their early stuff) the words "Turgid" and "Overblown Hype" seem to fit quite well. I write this as a warning to other rock music fans who are expecting some 5 star sounds, don't go near it with a muddy stick. I've always considered the legend that is Dave Gilmore to be another of the "in the right place at the right time brigade" like many other mediocre but overrated artists DG isn't a particularly good guitarist - competent is about as far I would go - but then again I don't rate Clapton ... Sometimes... just sometimes... you find yourself watching a film for purely superficial reasons. Such is the case with this one, Honey, which I am ashamed to say I saw because I heard it featured Jessica Alba in a variety of small, tight, and small and tight outfits. Also, she gyrates quite a bit. Phew... what was I talking about? Oh yes, Honey, which is a film about a sassy young thing (Alba) who dances and tries to help some underprivileged kids... with dancing. That's it, really. Speaking as a guy who's a bit too old and unhip for this kind of thing, I didn't enjoy Honey very much. It's all very ham-fisted and cliched, the dialogue had me cringing in quite a few places, and Alba (bless her) continues to be a terrible actress.
