As someone who was somewhat disappointed that the latest Jackson Browne live acoustic cd did not include any material from the terrific 2006 tour with David Lindley, this comes as a godsend.
Stringmeister Lindley and Jackson Browne play a long and relaxed yet passionate set which is truly wonderful. Lindley switches majestically between oud, guitars and violins(listen to the gorgeous violin on "These Days" and "Barricades of Heaven") whilst Jackson on guitars and piano is in fine form.
This was recorded at the Philadelphia Folk Festival in 2006, although you would never know from the amazingly information-free dvd, which has no chapters (thus no song selection), credits or any other information, merely an unedited recording of the ... Read More:

This is Bette Midler's finest film role and acting of her whole career. She was nominated for an Oscar, but sadly lost out, which was such a shame. There have been a couple of other films, Beaches, but sadly not the same emotion and punch.
I watched `The Rose' years and years ago, it was playing on Channel 4 over a Christmas period. I purchased this a couple of months ago, and even today it is NOT out dated. The performance from Bette Midler is awesome, funny, moving and tragic. Even after nearly 30 years, the ending still made me cry. The last song Bette sings, toward the end of the film, is just SOOOO powerful and moving.
The only other two songs that can be placed on the same level of emotion and feeling is ... Read More:

The reviews on this DVD seem to be from the Live Aid DVD available elsewhere. This DVD is "Queen Rock Montreal & Live Aid", the Live Aid bit lasts around 15 minutes and is Queen's set in the afternoon and Brian and Freddie playing "Is this the world we created?", there are also the odd interview and some rehearsal footage here, these bits however should be seen as "extras", the main event is the 2 concerts filmed in Montreal in 1981.
Any one who is a Queen fan, probably has the "We Will Rock You" video or DVD, well this is the exact same film, but the quality in High Definition is astounding. The band apparently did not enjoy making this, they also did not own it, apparently they now do, and this HD DVD is a Queen Production. If you need ... Read More:

Most Jam fans know that this concert exists in its entirety, in excellent quality, and were expecting a legal release of the whole gig. What do we get? A lazy reissue of exactly what we got back in 1983 on a VHS cassette! Not good enough.
This great concert deserves to be seen legally in its entirety and not this cut and paste effort. Very disappointing. The Jam and their loyal fans deserve so much more than this cheaply and shoddily recycled product.

A brilliant collection of lovely videos. Its a real shame the opening screen is backed by the rockstar song. It's true what they say, when it comes to Nickleback, that the worse the song the more popular it is. Why could it not be one of the others? A great DVD, with a video I hadn't even seen.
Really lovely present for me. Go on... treat yourself. :-)

This film completely knocked me when I was 13. I had given up ballet when I was 10, but after seeing this film, struck me like a thunderbolt and I resumed dancing and enjoying classical ballet ever since. The melodrama didn't matter, it was mind boggling and I minded terribly about the end. But above all the shear theatricality of the story and rich colour designs by Heckroth set me on the road to a life time love of ballet and dancing. This is a classic film of it's time and lasts well, in spite of Moira Shearer's inexperience of acting, but bewitching dancing. Marius Goring is terrific.

I always feel Kaiser Chiefs are so much better live than on record. This DVD is proof of it,they connect so well with the audience, and the whole gig is just one big homecoming party. If you were there you'll get it anyway,if not do see it and witness one of our top bands at the top of their form. This set covers so many of their best known songs with some from the new album for good measure. You find when watching this your drawn into the excitement of the night it was recorded.Well worth buying and enjoying over again. As a bonus there's six songs from the 2007 BBC Electric Proms, this time even including an orchestra, totally different from the Elland Road set,but a really excellent bonus section which for once you'll certainly watch more than once.
A top rate DVD that will ... Read More:

This superb DVD contains an extensive docmentary on Donovan's career on disc 1 and some extensive extras on disc 2. The documentary is comprehensive and shows what a major figure he was in the sixties. The split screen business that others are mentioning really doesn't bother me. The present day Donovan does seem to have something to prove as far as his achievements are concermed, but this is all part of his amusing charm. Personally I do prefer his early recordings rather than his current mannered style, however there is plenty of footage of these on this set. A must-have purchase.

Great DVD except for the missing Innuendo videos including the title track, Headlong etc. I decided to get this DVD after having Greatest Flix I & II on Video CD since 1994 only to find the aforementioned videos replaced with others. I'm sure there was room to put them on this otherwise great DVD, let's hope that there will be a Greatest Video Hits 3 including them along with the videos from Made In Heaven.

NEWS FLASH....FROM THE CLASH....
I've already reviewed the US Version of this...but my UK version arrived today...so...Track Wise it's the same...The Clash: Live - Revolution Rock [2008]
I still stand by review number one...I know some people think it's a bit of a rip off as most of the material has been available before..you do get some extras from US TV which unless you are a Clash Anorak like me ..you won't have seen before as they were only on "Unofficial" releases.
I think it's a great release especially for people who never got to see the band live..you don't get the full impact...but you certainly get a good idea of how passionate they were about what they were doing.
I still find Zane Lowe voiceover/commentary a little irritating...but you can turn ... Read More:
