That's a marvelous but cruel film. Cruel to us in its beauty. Cruel to David in his complete estrangement from the world of noise lost that he is in his world of music. How can you be deaf to anything but music? It is possible, even if that sounds crazy, if that is a mental lunacy. The film tries to get us to two conclusions. The first one is that a father can be right but only for a short while. A son has to get away from his father as soon as he can otherwise he might be destroyed, utterly destroyed. In this case he is only mentally destroyed. He loses the sense of time and even space probably. Time does not exist any more, which is not serious in itself; many people can live without time. But duration, goes away too and that is unbearable. ... Read More:

Runrig again deliver a great, albeit routine concert with this DVD release, so there is no arguement about that. However, when selecting the "DTS" option, I really expected much more. Compared to their previous concert DVD release, Day Of Days back in 2004, the sound is vastly inferior in terms of ambience, bass and filigree. Thus, the wonderful concert sound is somehow reduced to a rather monotone and even tinny sound, especially when all the instruments are playing simultaneously. The rear boxes are almost only utilized for crowd cheer and the bass box is hardly used at all. So, at least in comparison to their own previous standard this edition pales somewhat, which is a shame for this kind of concert...

The first time I watched it, in 2002, it was the night before one of my driving lessons... The man who was teaching me to drive was very nice and we talked a lot, and I started talking about it... I remember being so angry at this movie, that I couldn't really pay attention to the street... he laughed at me a lot... 'cause he couldn't understand what the big deal was... (not an Anne-Rice-Reader, of course!!)
and I remember saying that they couldn't have read the book, 'cause they even had the wrong hair colours... a lot of wrong hair colors!!
and that just made him laugh more...
Anyway... after years, I gave it another shot last night...
...DON'T ASK ME WHY...
I'm still so disgusted I can't even say what I think about ... Read More:

I have a Sony 40" HD TV and I watched it through my PS3 giving the disc a HD upscale and it was truly awful. Iv seen Oasis twice and they were great, I have all there dvds and cd's but this is the worst and its all down to the picture quality, its so grainy. It does the concert no justice.

Having watched the whole documentary, I feel there are a couple of points that are worthing noting for potential buyers - neither of which should put you off, though.
First, the disc is in 4:3 format - fine if you have a square telly, but on a widescreen telly with the top and bottom chopped a bit (to avoid black bars left and right) the captions for interviewees are chopped a bit.
Second, some of the videos for the songs are of poor quality. I know this is old film from the 70s but surely there are better prints available?
OK, so whinges out of the way, on to the good stuff. This is an excellent documentary. The first hour or so sets the scene, with the historical setting and also the way German musicians (and youth) ... Read More:

I got this DVD last month for my birthday and I've watched it twice already. I'm a huge FOB fan and think this DVD is brilliant. The behiend the scenes footage is funny but I was a bit disappointed to find it mainly just features Pete, definitely not enough Patrick/Andy/Joe. If you're a big FOB fan like me then this is for you.

This is all of the videos, pure and simple. My better half also owns the "Take That Greatest Hits" video which was actually a little bit better than this one as it was peppered with lots of "home video" footage of the lads larking around on tour and during video shoots etc. so she didn't get rid of that one when she got this. For what this is it is entertaining enough, and a nice companion to the CD of the same name.

It's just the single versions re-released as a box set, Why Bother?
I'll wait until the "Full Series Versions" if they ever get released, I know ITV are suffering from the credit crunch, but I seriously doubt this will help them re-gain their losses.
