Having been a Springsteen fan since about 1984, I'd kind of followed him from a distance since the disappointing Human Touch and Lucky Town. Ghost Of Tom Joad was an astonishing piece of art, but it seemed as if he'd put his rock and roll days behind him. Then on a visit to New York in 1999 I saw in Time Out that he'd reformed the E-Street Band and was playing arena gigs again. I cursed my luck that I couldn't fit a show into my schedule, got on with my holiday and forgot about it. Then on a Saturday night in 2001 Channel 4 screened THIS. Quite honestly, apart from Born In The USA, Born To Run and Ghost of Tom Joad, I didn't know his back catalogue all that well. This is not a full on collection of hits, yet it had me spellbound. The passion, ... Read More:

There's nothing on this DVD that you can't find on youtube to be honest.
And with Metallica launching there own youtube channel recently, all the videos on there are official, so you need not worry about Lars getting mad at you.
I bought this when it was first released on vinyl and video...and it is just as impeccable now. One of the greatest tours from one of the greatest bands, this gig stands the test of time and countless....and I DO mean countless....viewings. Metal at its finest.

Everyone reviewing this seems to be focusing on the sell-out factor and not THE ACTUAL ITEM. This isnt a radiohead approved release since they parted ways with capitol. All that beside the point it is still a staggeringly beautiful set of songs and visuals. If your a fan of radiohead, you need this. It is a corporate money grab, but its still nice to have all the old videos in one place and the music is still awesome. Radiohead still gets paid if you buy this.

Runrig again deliver a great, albeit routine concert with this DVD release, so there is no arguement about that. However, when selecting the "DTS" option, I really expected much more. Compared to their previous concert DVD release, Day Of Days back in 2004, the sound is vastly inferior in terms of ambience, bass and filigree. Thus, the wonderful concert sound is somehow reduced to a rather monotone and even tinny sound, especially when all the instruments are playing simultaneously. The rear boxes are almost only utilized for crowd cheer and the bass box is hardly used at all. So, at least in comparison to their own previous standard this edition pales somewhat, which is a shame for this kind of concert...

Firstly, I think I understand the views of those reviewers who did not like this film, but for me, it exemplifies everything I love about French cinema.
A magnificent film score and poignantly apt camera-work make their mark, but this is Juliet Binoche's film and once again, she effortlessly demonstrates her greatness in every single scene.
This film will not appeal to everyone and it doesn't try to, but it is worth viewing for the music and for the on-going acting masterclass that is Juliet Binoche.

Even if you don't like all the selections on here, if you like Evita, Phantom or Sunset Boulevard, it's worth it.
Antonio Banderas is amazing in "Phantom of The Opera". His voice, usually warm and rich is here cold and sinister. It makes an interesting contrast to Gerard Butler's portrayal of a passionate man who, but for his disfigurement, would have been a romantic hero. Banderas, although not in costume or make up, vividly conveys the dark side of the character. Sarah Brightman is, of course, splendid in her performance.
In the funeral scene from Evita, Banderas acts the part as well as singing it. This scene is most welcome for anyone who remembers fondly the original staging of Evita, before the messy film and Lloyd-Webber's tarting up of the ... Read More:
