Great DVD masses of music and bits and bobs from the 2006 tour and of course to see the late Richard Wright so clearly enjoying himself is a joy to behold.
Buy it if you like Gilmour/Floyd simple as that.

I read the other reviews on Amazon & hesitated... Then I thought, well, it's got to be worth a try...
To start with I was bemused. A selection of artists, both known to me and unknown appeared.. I'll be honest,in the past I'd tended , with only a couple of exceptions,to regard performances of Leonard Cohen songs by anyone other than the man himself as rather second rate...
In fact there are some absolutely mesmerising performances here. There are also one or two which for my taste prove what the "skip" button is for...! Opinions will always vary but I have found the more you watch this DVD the more it grows on you and the "skip" button is used less frequently.
After watching this show, not only you loose yourself in celine`s great voice and performance, but you also realise that this BD DVD is wrapped up in an unforgettable presentation of high quality imagery and sound, which really does make the show come alive in your own living room. I recommend this Blu-ray disc to all Celine Dion fans, but also to those who haven`t had the chance of getting to know her work on a closer level.

"Joy Division" is a moderately interesting documentary about the legendary 1970's Manchester post-punk group. It features extensive interviews with group members, managers and writers as well as footage from Joy Division's various concerts and TV appearances. The film focuses mainly on the life of the late singer of the band Ian Curtis who of course tragically committed suicide on the eve of the group's planned tour of America. I must admit that I preferred the recent film about Joy Division, "Control" ,to this documentary and I felt that I found out more about Curtis and the band from that critically acclaimed movie rather than "Joy Division" the documentary.

This is as described - a documentary account of the making of the Cirque du Soleil LOVE show in Las Vegas. To expect a complete performance of the stage show would be asking too much. The show, like any other designed for the stage has to be seen..er...on the stage.
We've all heard criticism of the soundtrack album and about how the sacred work shouldn't be played around with - BUT don't forget, it's a soundtrack to a show, just as this film is a documentary about the way that the show came to life.
One thing that comes over in the film, as in the show, is the care in portraying the main players (ie the Beatles) as having a great collective sense of humour. Something easy to forget all these years later.
Having seen the show twice now, I feel ... Read More:

I was very excited when I saw this old childhood favourite released on DVD. Sadly it now looks very dated. The picture quality is not great and I got bored before one episode. However the sound quality is good and I still enjoyed the theme tune. Strange when I was a kid I assumed Bod was a girl, only when I watched the DVD over 30 years later do I find he is a boy!!!
I have bought a few old favourites to share with my kids. Unfortunately Bod has lost its appeal. I wouldn't recommend buying this one, perhaps borrow it as I could not face watching even a full episode let alone the whole thing. This one will spoil your nostalgic memories. I had a much better experience with the 'Trumpton' DVD it still holds its charm.

Everyone had gone on about this film for years telling me how brilliant it was so I decided I'd beter watch it! I have to say I have seen better films involving dance or someone coming from a bad background and finally 'making it'. It was a good experience and the music was great but I'd much rather watch something like 'Center Stage' or even the second 'Dirty Dancing' again and again than this more than once.

I picked this up cheaply from the supermarket this week, having been keen to see it for some time. I liked the idea of the story, and the musical performances were excellent, but I thought the acting and script didn't come up to the same standard. In particular, I thought Robert Arkins as the lead character (Jimmy Rabbitte) gave a very wooden performance - it seemed at times as if he was reading his lines off a cue card. And I thought the dialogue, while funny in places, was so over-laced with swearing that its impact became ineffective, even on the level of poetry.
I know that most of the (hitherto unknown) cast were assembled on the basis of their musical skills first and any acting ability second, which is probably why so much screentime is devoted to the band ... Read More:

Like the other reviewers here I watched this on BBC Four and it was certainly an interesting documentary. In some ways one time confirmed Reaganite Neil Young went up in my estimation, although he is still comes across at the age of 63 as confused, self centred, and contradictory as a teenager - no doubt one of the reasons he has stayed musically relevant over the years.Unfortunately, the two most politically aware members of CSNY, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash, don't really get much credit. At the beginning of the doc CSNY are introduced as legendary anti-war performers, which I confess, as someone who saw them live in 1974, I found rather confusing, because it was in fact CS&N who were overtly anti-war.For those who doubt this and think I'm doing Neil Young down I'd just say take a look at the ... Before I ordered the movie, I was quite curious about it from reading reviews. But after watching it I got a little bit disappointed. In my opinion, it is not very well presented and only scratches the surface of spirituality (if this is the point of the movie). It is kind of ironic that in the movie they mention that we are constantly bombarded by images from the media but the film itself is a bombardment of images, interviews and sounds from all over the world, taken out of context and juxtaposed to each other.
The concept of traveling around the world and doing accidental interviews with well known people and recording interesting musicians seemed intriguing. But I'm afraid that the end result is not very astonishing, may be because there wasn't a clear vision of the project. Some of the ... Read More:
