Like several others I can't say that Orbison was even close to the top of my musical heroes but this package just has the best of everything - cool songs, great setting, tremendous musicianship and a splendid arty film in black and white which captures so much more than can ever be gained by listening to the CD alone.
It's amazing to see Bruce Springsteen in total awe of Orbison, to have backing singers including kd lang and to catch a fleeting glimpse of Sylvester Stallone in a spellbound audience.
What is absolutely ridiculous though is that this total revelation can be bought for £4.98 from Amazon at the date of this review.
Now I'm a guy who spends some time seeking out value for money and believe ... Read More:

Great ! Superb ! Fantastic ! I agree that picture could have been better, but music overcomes it all ! Something not seen. We in Croatia would say "prava festa" (true fiesta) for all of people in the venue: the musitians and the audience, and therefore all the people who watch it on DVD.... Really must have DVD.

Wasn't going to write a review, but then you get jumped up little wannabe Guardianists like Thomas "Nobmachine" spewing out their fetid bed wetting nonsense. Make no mistake, this is first and foremost a great rock'n'roll dvd, full on balls to the wall classic rock, played how it should be! No prog rock here! Just a huge wall of sound that is unmatched by any other act for sheer power. Every track bristles with righteous fury and takes you right back to 1977, a far more interesting musical time than we have at the moment. The audience defintely loved it big time, always a good sign.

This is a great movie, the music and acting are fantastic, however the quality of the film is terrible, especially at the beginning. Little Anna Mae looked more like the Elephant Man on our copy of the DVD (unless we have a duff one) and spoilt our enjoyment of the film. But we hung on in and whether it got better quality or we just got used to it, it was a great film!

I picked this DVD up over the weekend and was really impressed with it. The visuals against the music are ideal and are broken up with live footage of Rick on the piano. The live footage is relaxing and compliments the true genius that Rick Wakeman is on the piano. This is a must have for all. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

"Topsy Turvy" is more than just a "play within a play" although it works very well at that level. We see the genesis of Gilbert and Sullivan's best-known work "The Mikado" after the partnership has gone through a low spell, and get enough scenes from its staging (and that of other G & S "Savoy operas") to satisfy all but the keenest of Savoayards. We enjoy immensely the way in which the premiere is rehearsed and pulled together under Gilbert's dictatorial directorship. It is all very funny but there is a darker side in the world outside. The relationship between Gilbert and Sullivan and the efforts that the impresario D'Oyley Carte and his team have to make to keep them working together are very well set out and the niceties of class distinctions in Victorian ... I have been following Soulwax since 2002. As a musician myself, listening to Soulwax grow from a rock band to a electronic rock band has been an amazing journey. From start to finish, "Part of the weekend never dies" is definitely some of the best video editing I have ever seen in my entire life. Saam Farahmand is no joke and will blow your mind away by how he captured Soulwax. I purchased this dvd the day it came out on Amazon UK on September 8th, 2008. I would catch myself watching the live portion of the DVD every morning before i went to work. "Its a motivational movie for an musician who strives to be different!"
I showed it to a buddy of mine... worst mistake of my life. Now all of my friends are ... Read More:
