As you can tell from the other people's reviews this movie is brilliant!! But what is not said (at least I don't think so! I didd'nt read all 100+ reviews!) is the picture quality! i'm using a Toshiba 47" 1080i LCD HDTV with a PlayStation3 with HDMI connection. For a DVD it's got AMAZING detail! I'm surprised they managed to fit this 3 hour film with this quality onto a DVD!! I have a collection of around 500 DVDs & this must be in the top 5 of best picture quality in my selection! I am sick and tired of all this green faced evil that pollutes so much of our films and TV. All the evil implications of having a green face are evident in this film, and the subtleties of the evil that the mask makes people do is overt and a little disturbing to say the least.
If anyone out there has studied the history and meaning of green faces they will understand this film's evil intentions and undertones. I cannot look too long at the cover of this DVD because of evil greeness and I bookmark and skip the bits when Jim 'can't act' Carrey has the mask on. The title says it all these movies are amazing the storyline is amazing, the special effects are out of this world, acting is superb, the battle scenes are breathtaking. Peter Jackson is a genius no one thought anyone could do this but peter jackson prooved everyone wrong. I remember seeing all of them at the cinema they were breathtaking especially the battle senes. I have all 3 films but the first i have on VHS so soon i'm gonna need to buy this. THIS FILM IS A MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!!

Almost finished series 3. 3 episodes to go but I'm really losing the will to live.
For me they've broken the 1st commandment of entertainment: Dont be boring. The major plot: Galactica and co are trying to find Earth whilst being chased by the Cylons. The sub plot: Baltar and No.6 Everything else: Sub-sub plots. How much time is spent on the major plot line? about 20 mins. How much time is spent on the sub plot? 10 mins? About 20 episodes take up the completely boring sub-sub plots. Do we need 3 weeks of Apollo fancies Starbuck? If people want to watch marriage breakdowns and adulterous affairs they can watch Eastenders can't they? I dont watch BSG for that! Everything that's supposed to be so meaningful ... Mannequin is a fresh feel good romantic comedy which brings together Andrew Mc Carthy (Jonathan) with his boyish

I never was a fan of the RESIDENT EVIL films (never played the games), although there are worse zombie films out there, there's also a lot better ones. This one marks the bottom of the series (and hopefully the end). I expected a LOT more after the promising promotion this title went through, and it fully disappointed. Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter are great - as usual - but it takes more than that to make an excellent zombie flick. If you're looking for excellent zombie films stick to George Romero's or Lucio Fulci's films. If you don't want them that violent this might do (but then again why watch a zombie film in the first place?)

I grew up watching the original film so I expected not to like this version as much but I actually prefer it.
It's a lot darker than the original film and I found it very amusing. I wasn't so impressed with all the added parts about Willy Wonka's father but apart from that it was all good. I think it's one of those films that's just as good for adults as it is for children. And of course it has Johnny Depp in it, which is a great bonus! >>More Details |

This review is based on watching the "original theatrical version" (1977) which is on the Bonus Disc in this 2 Disc DVD.
There is stellar charm from C3PO, R2D2, Princess Leia, Skywalker, and Hans Solo. The pace of the film is also very good. The audience follows the story much through the eyes of narrators C3PO and R2D2. That, ladies and gentleman, is why this film is pretty innovative. Based on the book by George Orwell, this is one of the most disturbing films I've seen n a long time. In fact it is probably more relevant in the UK today than at any time since the novel first appeared. John Hurt is fantastic in a nightmare world of an overbearing government personified in the form of Big Brother staring at everyone in every room. The notion that things we take for granted - real food, freedom of thought, love and families - could one day become forbidden by law is certainly a terrifying one. Cleverly written and realised, cerebral but never boring, there are some creepy images that really stay with you. Mention must go to the scenes in Room 101 and the chief torturer, who is the picture of menacing calm. An all-time great.

Ok, I have to admit once I'd heard they were making a sequel and it was going to be more hardcore sci-fi horrorfest than previous attempt by the 'Anderson', I became very excited to relive the good old days of 'Aliens' and the very underrated 'Predator2'. And yes, the story is a little on the poo side but is adequate fare considering the other franchise films. The action is cool and the film as a whole seems a good step up from the drivel in AvP. Here's hoping the next film raises the bar on all fronts as this one does feel like a filler for the time being. Oh yes, the teenagers in it are very annoying but who cares when they get ripped to pieces....
