I watched this film as a child, then as an adult, and it always amazes me. Another truly heart warming Christmas film! Richard Attenborough portrays a wonderful Santa Claus, with his remarkable acting skills! It does not matter what age you are with this movie, old or young, it will warm your heart at Christmas time, with a few laughs along the way.

Although I am not the greatest Harry Potter fan in the world I have always enjoyed the film series and thankfully this film continues this trend. The Order of the Phoenix sees the dark lord Voldemort gathering his forces but with the Ministry of Magic refusing to acknowledge his return Harry and his friends must defy the Ministry in order to prepare for the coming war. Complicating matters is Ms Umbridge, the Ministry appointed Defence from the Dark Arts teacher, who is willing to do anything for the Ministry of Magic.
I haven't read any of the Potter books as yet and as such I cannot comment about how closely this film sticks to the book and I have heard mixed reports on the subject. Nevertheless I do feel that the film fits in very will with the ... Read More:

imho, it's the things that other people hated about this film that made me love it:
the acting was believable. i think that i would make a whimpering noise if i suddenly found myself on the ground with a huge monster standing above me.
the dialogue was believable. in real life people generally don't soliloquy like shakespeare, or describe ever innermost emotion, or philosophise or have great one-liners every minute - they usually just talk rubbish, like they do in this film.
the script was believable. it was what you could reasonably expect to happen if a half-kilometer high monster invaded new york.
there IS humour in the film, if you aren't po-faced.
As a die-hard X-Phile, I was excited to hear that a brand new movie had been released. I was expecting the story to pick up somewhat where the show had left off; to see Mulder and Scully trying to stop the impending world colonisation from aliens, the set date of which they had learned in the final series of the show. I had also hoped to see involvement from A.D Skinner and the highly likeable show characters Monica Reyes and John Doggett.
I was very disappointed to find that apparantly the deadly invasion of earth was of no further interest to Mulder and Scully (it's not mentioned once, in fact) and that their friends Reyes and Doggett are no longer involved in their lives. Skinner makes an all too brief appearance, having been out of their lives also for what seems a fair ... Read More:

After finally convincing my brother to watch an episode of Family Guy, infuriatingly it turned out to be this one. It's really not up to the standard I've come to expect of the series' writers, it was pretty lame, really, obviously written by Star Wars fans for Star Wars fans. Now he refuses to watch it at all and thinks I'm daft for liking it. Crud.

After watching the second X files film (which was a bit disappointing) I felt very nostalgic for the series which had spawned it. Only £65 or so on amazon, so that's about 30p per episode, plus you get the first feature film. Most people must know what the show is about, right? An x file is a case which has been deemed to be unsolvable by the FBI, usually because it has some sort of paranormal explanation which no normal agent will think about. Agent Fox Mulder set about investigating the X Files and became an expert in the paranormal, after coming to believe he witnessed his little sister being abducted by aliens. His partner is Dana Scully, who is assigned to work with him to use her scientific and medical background. Each episode usually starts off with a weird occurence, often a murder. ... Read More:

Oh dear, A very tired film, with none of the atmosphere of the last film nor of the fantastic t.v series. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson seemed tired and indifferent to the characters they were playing that made them so famous! The storyline was ok, but, little imagination was used and it could, and, should of been a lot better. for the first hour its about scully not wanting to join up with mulder and the rest is simply forgetful.Having been an avid fan for many years I find myself hoping that this will be 'The End'.The X Files: I Want To Believe (1 Disc Edition with Exclusive Free X Files Poster)

I received this product this morning (I was expecting to receive it in two days' time, so that's a good start!)
I haven't opened it as of yet, but this is just a 'first impression' description for those of you who are curious.
The collection comes in an A4-sized package, about the size of an A4 book, for example, which suprised me - I was expecting a regular-sized boxset - like most other boxsets - with about 8-10 individual 'sections', each containing a disc. I am wrong. It contains 10 discs featuring every episode from every series of Red Dwarf. As mentioned, I have yet to open the boxset, but from the size and shape of it, I can only assume that the discs are all layed flat and possibly 'overlapping' one another slightly, as opposed to them being laid side-by-side. ... Firstly, this boxed set comprises the three movies individually cased in standard blu ray cases in a slightly sturdy cardboard sleeve with a nice metallic green effect. That may come as a relief to owners of other boxed DVD sets etc where the cardboard lasts as long as cereal packets. All three movies are presented in letterbox widescreen transfers. Languages present are English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portugese , with Dutch only as subtitles. There is no region B coding marked on either the sleeve or individual cases so they are probably region-free.
The only other thing you really need to know about this trilogy release is that the HD picture and audio transfers are just fantastic. The Matrix has been remastered and is now of equal transfer quality to the sequels. With all the ... Read More:
