In my review for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace I wrote how the light and bright Phantom reflected the time in which it was released. 1999 was the dawn of the new Millennium and hope and freshness abounded during what was something of a short golden age for Western Society. If The Phantom Menace was a movie for its time, then 2005's dark and desperate Revenge of the Sith was also a movie of its time and for today. Strange..... for some reason, I liked this a lot better than Benders big score (BBS). Looking at the other reviews, most people rate the 2 feature length episodes the other way around. For me, this was back to the Futurama I love, didn't find it too long or fragmented like BBS, and no gripes at the network (MY major gripe about BBS). For me this was a good movie... enjoyed it a lot. 4 not 5 stars as there could have been a few more belly laughs.

Lovely, just lovely christmas movie. Cary Grant is the most wunderfull angel and Loretta Young is just lovely as the bishops wife and David Niven a perfect grouch. Gets you in the spirit.

So where do i begin?
First things first; the movie itself is something remarkable and shows one of will smith's greatest and probably best performance he's done. From my opinion, if it weren't for him the movie would of probably been a bit rubbish. When i first saw the film; i must admit, i didn't think much of it but when i watched it again, i was completely blown away. The way they captured the loneliness and sadness of Robert Neville's life is just incredible. When buying the film, just don't expect much of a blockbuster because this is not. Look at the film as how it was supposed to be... ...a one man show. Now your probably wondering why i only gave it four stars. Watched this a few years back but couldn't get on with the animation style. It was bought as a present for my 4yo who loves it. On re-watching I didn't have the same animation prejudice simply because Tim Burton has made it more 'acceptable'. Shallow of me I know but there you go.
The Aunts are fantastic in the 'real-life' section although I couldn't get on with the boy. Pete Postlethwaite still gives me the creeps (although that's from the Sharpe TV series rather than this film). In the animated section the bugs are all pretty good and the boy gets better. Why can the BBC not get the volume balanced properly? The menus have blastingly loud music compared to the episodes themselves, so you have to turn the volume down to select the episode and then up again to watch it. Minor irritation but no excuse for it from the BBC. Also the menu links you are forced to watch every time you want to go turn on the subtitles or something are annoyingly long. Let me watch the DVD already!
That said onto the review of the material itself. Torchwood is based around Captain Jack Harkness from the new Dr Who series and Torchwood the shadowy agency "outside the government, beyond the police" set up to capture and use alien artifacts.
