This is the best boxset ever, and best show ever. I have been a Charmed fan for years, and have been waiting for a decent price with a great design for the boxset. I had one before but it was the thin book of shadows one, which inside, the discs are just in crappy sleeves, and thats it, really poor design. This boxset is so more superior. When you open it up it reveals 4 boxes, each with a sister on it, and each box has two seasons in it. When you open this up, on the inside cover there is a list of all the episodes in that box, unfortunately no description of what that episode is about though. And then see-through flip parts with the discs held in it. It also comes with a great bonus disc with some interviews and making of, etc. The only thing I ... Read More:

I'll start of by saying that I'm a fantasy/sci-fi and action fan, I'm not entirely sure why I picked this film but it was listed on my recommendations so I thought I'd have a look and read the reviews. After just watching it I'll say I'm glad I did.
The acting is great, especially considering most of the cast are children. It has a simple yet effective story line and every bodies roles was thought out and executed wonderfully.
I won't say any more about it but I will recommend you watch it at least once.
How I would have loved this back in the early 80s, in the wake of the superior Escape From New York & Mad Max 2, along with the countless knockoffs such as Atlantis Interceptors, 2019 & the Bronx Warriors movies.
As it stands, this is very much 'seen it all before' BUT I still enjoyed it, despite the total lack of originality plot wise!
It's loud (too much at times), action packed and extremeley gory.
Visually, it's VERY impressive, looking even better than a $17,000,000 budget should allow. The special effects, costumes, make up FX and sets are at times stunning! The photography is unusually good for a genre film, and the film is often very atmospheric.
I particularly enjoyed the prologue set in 2008 Scotland, depicting the outbreak ... Read More:

John Boorman's 1981 film is an exercise in how to treat fantasy in an adult and serious manner.
The fantasy elements are subtle - there are no stop motion monsters to be found here - and yet still pervade the movie with a sense of the magical & arcane. This film in no way attempts a realistic approach to the extent of 2004's King Arthur.
Merlin as portrayed here is dark & ambiguous, constantly aware of the end of the time of magic & the old gods. A very eccentic performance by the
excellent Nicol Williamson. Helen Mirren as the evil & seductive sorceress, Morgana gives an erotically charged performance that is not easily forgotten!
Nigel Terry as Arthur is a bit wooden BUT his tone & manner suits the film's often sombre approach ... Read More:

This has got to be one of the worst Doctor Who stories I have watched for some time and had me questioning not just the story itself but why I am collecting Doctor Who at all.
There is probably about 35 minutes of story stretched out into 4 x 25 minute episodes. I was waiting for it to end by the end of the second episode but we just had endless story progressions revolving around things like the characters moving back and forth between the sisterhood and the castle.
The only thing worth watching here is Elisabeth Sladen.

Ever wonder, who is Santa Claus, really? Where does he come from, how old is he? How in the world does he squeeze down a chimney, and how does he get in if there isn't a chimney? What's the deal here? Well, happily, the answers to these questions and more are finally answered, as the legend of Santa Claus comes to life as never before in `The Santa Clause,' directed by John Pasquin and starring Tim Allen. Scott Calvin (Allen) is an executive with a toy manufacturing company, he's divorced and has a young son, Charlie (Eric Lloyd), who still believes in Santa, but is at an age at which doubt is beginning to creep into the picture. And the fact that Charlie's mom, Laura (Wendy Crewson) has a boyfriend, Dr. Neal Miller (Judge Reinhold), who is a psychiatrist, isn't helping the situation any. ... Read More:

In the old days parents with very young children used to go the cinema to watch live action fantasy adventures, wildlife documentaries and cartoons. However after "Toy Story" everything changed, mum and dad suddenly had the option of chuckling at a subversive movie wrapped up in kid-friendly day-glo colours. Whilst there have been plenty of great CGI movies since Pixars debut (most of them from that studio) it's nice to see a film with real moving actors from time to time and so Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium has arrived to fill that hole perfectly. It isnt a brilliant movie in its own right but it is a perfect family one. Great cast, nice cosy story and reasonably competent CGI (the world of live action is surrounded by the stuff these days)this is the perfect antidote to computerised entertainment ... Read More:

The fourth series of Doctor Who has been perhaps the finest season out of the lot. My main reason for believing that is when I compare this series to the ones before, this seems to have stood out more in terms of overall quality. When judging the series by each episode individually, I've found that Series 4 has been more consistent than anything that's gone before it.
The fourth and final DVD volume of this series justifies my belief. Without doubt, this three-parter is the highlight of Season 4. Collectively and individually, these episodes are real classics and the ultimate way to end this spectacular series. They have everything and features both David Tennant and Catherine Tate at the peak of their abilities.
