I just want to provide a bit of information that is missing from the product listing, which is of great interest to many people. That is, has the transfer of the Theatrical Editions been improved over the insult that was released last time? And the answer is a plain and simple "no". The Special Edition is the same fantastic transfer as we've had before (albeit with the same bizarre discolouration problems) and the Original Theatrical Editions are still not anamorphic. Why? Well, we all have our suspicions about that.
Putting it simply, if you don't have the Star Wars trilogy on DVD, this release is cheap enough and worth getting, but if you own it and were hoping for an improvement over the previous release (no longer limited, it ... Read More:

I bought this for my brother for his birthday but alas he informed me that he would have rather had something else (even though he loves Hitchcock and I thought the extra features would be "right up his street"). I have seen a few of the more famous films and was actually looking forward to him telling me all about them and the "extra bits". I said I would get him something else - so will be keeping them myself (my husband said he would like them too) - so looks like an early Christmas present for us ...... my brother's loss I think.

I really enjoyed this DVD, i don't agree that it is too difficult to follow and found the instruction very clear. It is alot more of aerobics than dance but is choreographed in a way in which you feel like you are dancing. The dance classics section is a bit more tricky to pick up but if you are already a dancer or are familiar with all of the previous pump it ups, in particular the last one then you should have no problem getting to grips with it after a couple of tries.
Again the cooling down section includes a good workout of the stomach before a stretch it out section.
Gareth the instructor makes it a fun workout and Stephanie fitzpatrick (from the previous pump it up) who presents alongside him is a fantastic dancer and demonstrates the moves really ... Read More:

The It Crowd is an awesome sitcom about three people who work in the IT department and are completely misunderstood. It has some hilarious moments in it such as 'Roy' walking around with lipstick on his face and when 'Moss' creates the 'perfect' bra.
Buy if you're a fan of any British Comedy, you won't be disappointed!

First heard about this on the Newsnight cultural review of 2008 where they were saying it was the highlight of the year for American drama so I checked it on Amazon and for only £8 I put it in my partner's stocking for Xmas - bargain.
I was expecting it to be sub-HBO standard but it isn't. Instead it is a gripping thriller with a cast of monsterous, yet believable, characters. I've only watched the first 5 episodes so far but if it maintains the standard it will be a most excellent series. I've given it 4 stars in case it tails off like some series do.
The only downside is that my canny partner pointed out that Glenn Close looks eerily like Robin Williams in the fat suit from Mrs Doubtfire which only makes her more sinister.
I have a bit of a love-hate relatiosip with the 'Pirates of the Carribean' trilogy. On one hand, I absolutely ADORE certain aspects of the films, like Johnny Depp's portryal of Captain Jack Sparrow (pure genious in my opinion), certain story arcs like the love story between Captain Barbosa and Calypso, the costumes are always imaginative and a pleasure to see, and, you know, it's a story about a bunch of pirates out at sea - it's fun, it's exciting, it's a film you can enjoy and not have to take too seriously.
One the other hand, after the first viewing (and sometimes even before that) these films are a bit of a drag. They are long, and the 2nd or 3rd films should be awarded any prizes for imaginative or compelling plot. I often found my mind wandering the the cinema, due to ... Read More:

The content of this DVD is fantastic. Full marks to Katherine and Darcey for entertainment. The disappointment is the fuzzy recording. While watching Katherine and Darcey sing in the first couple of numbers there are fuzzy spots in front of their faces somewhat like the privacy patches one sees in news dramas. By the middle of the DVD Katherine could be seen in wonderful clarity, which makes me think that the problem is poor camera-work and the operators didn't get their act into gear until after the interval! That's just not good enough for a commercial DVD.

First things first, Joss Whedon created Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Therefore his place amongst TV legends is assured. Few programmes have captured a generation's imagination so effortlessly and brilliantly. In my own humble opinion of course.
With those two series on his CV I was understandably excited by Firefly and was shocked to hear that it had been so unceremoniously cancelled. Then I heard a few mixed reports and started to feel a tad wary about it. Hence, only recently taking the plunge and snapping up the box set now it's on offer.
Having now watched each episode and the tie in film Serenity, I can see firstly, why it got cancelled and secondly, why that was a harsh call.
A few comments have been made on here about the awfulness of the theme ... Read More:

Bought for me - like no doubt many others - as a Christmas present, I watched this DVD with unfolding disbelief (and anger) that such plate-scrapings could be released to an unsuspecting public.
A quick check on a certain auction site reveals no end of these atrocious DVDs in 'as new' condition - it's pity the same couldn't be said for the content.
To quote an infinitely funnier comic: "is 'e avin' a laff?"
