Can only add to what's already been said. Lovely machine, quiet, fast to print/scan and works well with my Apple Imac (Leopard OS X). And yes, it's big and heavy but as long as it keeps working well for me i don't mind at all!

After 3 days I've finally given up. The drivers can only be installed via the HP website and not the disk provided. Whilst the printer is technically installed and good to go, installing the software is a different story altogether due to it all being supplied on the same cd. It just will not install on Vista. Sadly the software on the HP website is actually the same as the disc so you end up with the same ongoing problem. 3 days of my life have been wasted on this attractive piece of junk. I'm off to buy an Epson as I've never had a problem with their software or printers before. So if restarting your computer over and over again is your idea of fun go for it. If not then avoid!

Just recieved this printer after using lexmark printers for years spending around £100 for the lexmark and had nothing but truble with them so decided to change to another brand and im glad i did. I just paid £26 for this lovely printer and the quality is amazing and was simple to set up. Its prints pretty fast and has a much easier way of using things like the allignment and cleaning. If on a budget this is the perfect printer.

This is the most difficult printer we have ever set up. We are used to epson, but this one is another story. After removing all the packaging and turning it on, we set the date and time etc. After installing the ink cartridges it made a horrific clicking noise as if something was jammed and asked us to restart. After experiencing this problem numerous times it finally moved on. We thought we were successful... then installing the printer.
Now I am very competent with computers and installations but this one was something else. The printer software would not detect the printer even when it was plugged in directly... let alone wirelessly. We spent at least 10 hours straining over different ways and trying it on both Vista and XP to see ... Read More:

Bought this printer on the basis of everyone elses good reviews! I found it so irritating - it would take ages to print or scan once you sent something to it!
After about two months the rollers that rolled the paper in broke so much to my delight I sent it back and am now going to buy a better one!
I would recommend spending a bit more and buying a more sturdy, decent printer like the canon mp610.

HP Photosmart C4580 All-in-One A4 Printer
So easy to set up, great quality, silent printing. I had been put off by so called experts saying WIFI printing would be slow. NO way! The laptop talks to the hub, the hub talks to the printer in the spare room, and voila my printing dreams come true!

I bought this to replace an R800 that was showing banding on photos and which the local Epson service agent was unable to fix.
It was easy enough to set up and the prints look great. I used genuine Epson ink and premium glossy photo paper with Photoshop colour management (the software installation automatically added the R2880 colour profiles to the Photoshop print menu). Blacks are particularly good - the R800 blacks had a warm colour cast. Bright colours are possibly slightly better in the R800 but there's not much in it. However, the R800 was very poor at printing dark greens.
Speed is very slow on max quality setting but on standard setting much faster and I couldn't see any difference in quality - even under a magnifying glass.
However, I ... Read More:

I bought this as a Christmas present for my Mum who has a digital camera but no computer or printer. The quality of the prints is really good and the speed is quicker than stated in the instructions. Only a couple of things I wasn't happy with. Firstly it comes with only three pieces of photo paper (one of which has to be used to check alignment) and an ink cartridge that will only print 10 pictures, all of which seems a bit stingy and I wish I'd bought extra supplies. The other thing is that the detailed instructions are on a disc which isn't a lot of help when you've bought it because you don't have a computer.
All in all a lovely little printer that I would recommend but buy extra supplies from the beginning!
