I originally had a Zune from the US but it died suddenly within a few months and it cannot be replaced from the UK. Therefore, this Apple product avoider went against every thing she had every said and got a new classic. The player itself has been just what I needed to keep sane/deal with my 4 hour commute to work every day. It plays mp4, has my music and playlists, got the photos and most importantly handles all of my podcasts. Basically it does what it needs to and more - it can handle importing microsoft outlook (but have heard a lot of other people have issues with this). Haven't yet figured out the notes but I have only had it for 2 weeks.
My gripe is with the software. I wish I could go back to using the Zune software ...

The Archos 5 is just so much improved it's hard to fine any fault at all. All Archos products are wonderful but this time they have outdone themselves. A Superb entertainment machine and the screen is so good I watch full movies rather than sit in fron of the TV, As Archos always have said "think snmaller". Just wonderful.

I'd always bought smaller, low capacity mp3 players and decided I needed something a little bigger. I went and bought this iPod, as I was told I wouldn't need the 160GB version.
It is one of the best things I have bought. Currently it contains 5242 songs (200 of which are half hour radio shows), 15 videos (but has previosuly held around 100 with space for music) and 213 podcasts. I also have 31 audiobooks, and I still have 31.5Gb spare.
It is really easy to find a certain album or track to listen to, and the screen is excellent for viewing videos.
The only problems I have had so far are that iTunes can be a bit tempermental with ID3 tags, and once or twice the iPod has frozen on me, but that is easily reset.
The iPod itself ... Read More:

I've had this piece of kit for 6 months now and must accept that this gadget is addictive to say least! be in mobile entertainment or home-theatre entertainment (use the dock with my projector) it fits in very well, unmatched in quality and features. The display is 'crystal' and the projected images are sufficiently sharp upto 2m diagonal.
There are a few shortcomings however, esp the bulk of the hard drive and the usability as the interface isn't really finger friendly. I'd wish that it had the fluidity of the iPOD touch but having owned an AV, a Gen 4 and now a 5 , I have to admit that Archos are making a good effort in making their PVPs more usable.

New Apple TV 160GB
OK then - this is a nice loking piece of equipment. It installed with no problems at all and because my TV is pre MDCI cable I used the component cable method of connecting - absolutely no problem at all and the picture quality is fairly high - comparable to a DVD. Here's my beef and the reason why I didn't give it 5 stars. I use an IMAC to store my Itunes and to create slideshows from my photographs - the IMAC does this flawlessly. I then create movies from the Slideshows so that I can burn them onto a DVD - I use IDVD for this task and again no problems at all. The issue I have is that once I have created the movies from the slideshows I cannot import them into Apple TV - a bit of a let down really and a problem that is so basic Apple ... Read More:

i had an old, small memory, broken ipod that needed replacing, and was very happy and grateful when i received this silver classic 80gb apple ipod as a gift. its fantastic ! i transferred all my music collection on to it, which is currently a few thousand songs, and i still have room for many thousands more ! the memory size of the ipod is enormous, should be adequate for me for many years, i will probably wear it out before i fill it up ! im a happy girl, proud owner of this item, i reommend it.

Purchased only few days ago (27/10/08). Charged battery for 8 hours, got a bit worried as lost 1 bar in 5 mins, soon went down to 1 bars. Suggest buying additional battery dock as it eats up power. Web-brower plug-in is £20 additional feature, but find it glitchy. YouTube streaming is fantastic tho, goes full screen and excellent quality. Waiting for my DVR 5 to come! suggest buying add-on features it is worth it!
