Bought this a few weeks ago - the 120GB version. It's great. It does everything it says it does and more. I've not got a Tuff-Luv case for it as there isn't one that comes with it (poor show). I still thnk the price is too high as much cheaper abroad. However I bought mine (sorry Amazon) from Heathrow Terminal 1 Dixons for £195. However Dixons now raised their price to almost that of Amazon so I'd recomend getting from Amazon now.
I've filled 3/4 of the hard drive now with muisic/films and many TV programmes. Not a problem though as easy to connect to laptop or external drives or flash memory and you can file manage from the Archos. I think the adverts and reviews for the system really undersell it. I understood the dock+remote would allow me to connect my iPod to the audio/video inputs of my equipment and control my iPod remotely. Well, it depends on what you consider "control the iPod remotely" to be. It does allow me to play/pause/skip, but it doesn't allow me to navigate the iPod menu. So, if you want to browse your songs/videos/photos, or if you want to switch from watching a video to listen a song, you need to reach for your iPod and use it. That restricts *a lot* the usefulness of the remote. (I don't understand how the other 2 reviews could be positive at all...)

Really pleased with these. It's not like being at Gatecrasher on a big trance night, but they do their job as travel speakers or as a second "hi-fi". Tweaking your iPod's EQ menu helps them sound better - I like the Dance (bassy) and Electronic (trebly but little bass) and Rock settings. I leave the iStation 'surround sound' ON. (Surround sound only if you're the size of a flea, though.)
Cost me £50 four years ago (still going strong) and much cheaper if you play around with a few mouse clicks now ! Re some web reviews stating that continually operating the iPod buttons weakens the docking connection - I don't know if it works with the smaller ones, but on the full-size iPod or the new Touch version (I've tried both), you are supposed ... It doesn't come with a usb hub, but I've got enough USB ports :) What I bought it for is the eSATA interface which can be used instead of USB (which is also has) to give you a really fast transfer speed to the PC you attach it to... plus they put an eSATA cable in the box which would normally cost you a few quid extra.
Admittedly it would have been nice to have a USB hub, and a card reader, but looking at the specs for the one Mr. B. Hannah links to, I'm not certain whether that product has the eSATA connection + cable in the box. >>More Details |

I bought the riser for a 17 in laptop, and it works well. The rubber base is very stable and the higher settings match the top of the screen with my eyeline ( I'm 6ft 3in ). The angle allows easier access to the laptop's keyboard as well, and you can clip the mouse/keyboard cables through the back of the stand. Works better for me than a previous iCurve.
