It worked perfectly for just over 12 months then the screen started to loose contrast on start-up and became very 'pale'. This could be rectified by slightly flexing the case and was an intermittent but only a slightly annoying feature.
However, about 18 months after purchase the screen 'flipped' 180 degrees and it was impossible to access data as the underlying touch technology remained in its original position. I did all the resets etc but still no joy. Contacted Palm and seems the 'digitaliser' is to blame and will cost £110 to replace.
Lets do the maths £180 for original T|X plus £110 repair = £290 which over 18 months = approx £16 per month ...
Seems like it would be good money after bad.

I've had this device for a few weeks now and have only just started reading the manual. It really is extremely easy to get up and running with this. I bought it as replacement for my aging Sharp organiser with keyboard, and was worried that having to use a stylus was going to be much slower and more fiddly. But it's fine - you get used to it really quickly and the space saved by not having the keyboard is fantastic.

There were a few things that I bemoaned not having - mainly preferences and settings - which I accepted because of the price and size. And then I read the manual - and this opened up another new world with this little gem! You can tweak nearly everything - you can tailor things to remind you in exactly the way you want to be reminded, ... Read More:

I've only had my Centro for three days but I'm so pleased with it that I feel compelled to write a review right now and maybe add another one at a later date.
I'll admit that it may not be as flashy nor able to brag about the size of its mega pixel as some of the smartphones on offer but what it lacks in show it more than makes up for in ability and ease of use. Everything I've tried to do with it so far has worked first time with no hassles. Like for instance one of the first things I did was to set it up to get my email, I was expecting an hour of frustration but not a bit of it, I just put in my username and password and I was reading my emails within two minutes. After loading in the software I sat it on my infrared keyboard that I have for my Palm TX and ... Read More:

I was debaiting on Palm Z22/E2/TX as i wouldn't use this item for big files or watching videos/music, I just wanted a powerful organizer.

I've had Microsoft windows based mobiles/PDA before and they are so slow and always have memory problems or glitches and won't sync with PC.
This palm syncs with my PC brilliantly and after a week of playing with it i'm very happy as it does what I want.

My only gripe is that this PDA doesn't appear to complete turn it's self off as it goes into power saving mode, but I like it as it's always ready to use at a moments notice.

overall I'm very happy with this PDA even though it was orginally made in 2005 but most people make the mistake of going for a windows based PDA with phones included but if you ... Read More:

This is my first PDA, and after checking online, I decided to purchase this one. I am glad, as it does everything I want it to.

I was going to get the Tungsten E2, but as it wouldnt arrive for a couple of weeks, and I am inpaitent, I decided to save a bit of money and get little one. I ordered it on Tuesday morning, and it arrived on Wednesday morning, thanks speedy Amazon.

The little Palm Zire 31 does everything that I want it to do, at an excellent price, also with an MP3 player, the size can be anything you want, as you add your own SD card (Which I am currently waiting for from Amazon)

On the set up disk, you can add different things, such as Solitare and Mobile DB which I find extremely useful.

My view: 5/5. I love the blue colour and ... Read More:

Palm Treo 680 Sim-Free Smartphone

My Palm T3 was on its 2nd battery and my urge for a an Apple iPhone was growing. I read all the reviews on poor battery life and had been tracking the Treo 680 as an Amazon favourite for over a year watching the price carefully. When the Treo 680 was offered at £99 I couldn't resist and placed my order.

My purchase is now 3 months old and I totally delighted. With Bluetooth and Phone off the Battery life is excellent (4-6 days between charge). Even with the phone on, the battery life is not a problem and easily better than my old T3.
I found rehosting of the old software from the T3 to the new 680 reasonably painless.
The Documents to Go software gives 1st class editable access to MS WORD and EXCEL files. The PDF viewer is slow but OK for simple files but I have ... Read More:

TomTom 1T90.010 Navigator 6 Software & Maps Of Western Europe On DVD

I have Tom Tom 6 on DVD. It's an excellent GPS system and recognizes all postcodes I've stuck in. It has great functionality with itinery planning as well.
Only two small bad points; You can't customize the warning sounds very easily, whenever I pass a speed camera I have to make do with some bizarre whistle sound and secondly, you can only install it on two products. If you buy a GPS phone for example, you have to send the original receipt for the phone to Tom Tom before they'll give you a third code, something that isn't made clear in their sales information
Apart from that, all good.

The machine had performed superbly. Less than superb has been Palm's customer service. After seven months of use (into a 12-month warranty), the On/Off switch broke. Palm would not book this as a free-of-charge repair; the damage was "cosmetic", not covered by warranty. Not very cosmetic if you cannot switch the machine on and off. Endless eMail exchanges with their customer service over a period of about eight weeks failed to budge them an inch. Each time I thought I had convinced them, they invented a fresh reason not to honour the guarantee.

Despairing, I turned to Amazon, and said that I might have to make a claim against them as retailer under the UK Sale of Goods Act. Within 90 minutes they mailed to say that a fresh unit was in the post to me. So, I think Palm is ... Read More:

Palm m500

Over the past year I've found my Palm m500 extremely useful. It's taken the place of my Filofax and become indispensable. I find graffiti quick and easy and have downloaded loads of useful software for it.

However, it's now one year since I bought it and I've noted an inexorable decline in battery life. Whereas in the beginning it would easily last for two weeks without a charge I now find that the battery is lucky to last over a two day trip even if I use it only very occasionally. Recently, having had problems with my PC, I had failed to back it up for several weeks and it discharged completely whilst sitting unused on my desk for 5 days and I lost everything.

In summary then the m500 is great but I'm worried about its long term reliability - I've heard of other people ... Read More:
