Have been using skype for 5 years and introduced friends and families to it so I could talk to them across the Global. During the years they all got webcams and I resisted as I look crap on video! My friends and families webcams were okay but I wasn't impressed with the quality of the picture and the cost of the item.
Went on to Amazon to see about purchasing one and started to read everyone's reviews and decide to bite the bullet and purchase Logitech Quick Cam Pro 9000 webcam. I also followed everyone's comments about downloading the software off the web and sure enough I was very impressed with the quality!!! Better than my friends and families! This item works well, sound and vision.
I had it set up by my computer wiz kid, who was here for a printing problem, so perhaps the negative views shown by some people were because the item wasn't set up right. I have no hesitation in recommending it. >>More Details |

I have Vista and wanted a cheap, but decent webcam to work in Skype and Live Messenger. I installed the software, connected the camera and it works. Can't say fairer than that. It fits onto just about any monitor - TFT, laptop or whatever.

This was my first webcam as I needed to communicate with friends abroad.
The webcam is really easy to set up (plug & play), and from the description works well with both Skype and MSN Messenger. Unfortunately, the sound (mic) is terrible with MSN Messenger, my friends can barely hear me but it works OK with Skype so my friends and I ended up switching to Skype. I was a bit worried about one of the reviews saying it was difficult to get this webcam up and running. I no expert on computers but I had no problems with it and was using it within a matter of minutes. In fact I'm ordering another for a friend

Nice little Web Cam works well on XP and Vista.. Excellent clip for laptops,Dimmer switch on lights work well,Had to Download drivers for Vista from net because they would not load from disc. But having said that it gives a very good clear picture:: Happy Chappy.

Having read a review I bought this to use with my laptop. It may have a built in microphone but I am unable to use it as when I have the USB lead plugged in one side of my laptop the microphone lead doesn't reach the socket the other side. No instructions come with this webcam, it assumes you know what you're doing. Although I'd read claims that it could be used without the driver software that came with it I couldn't get it to work at all without. The add ons that came on the CDROM didn't appear to recognise that I had the camera attached. Can't fault the supplier though they offered a full refund if I returned it.

One of my friend in France had it and decided to buy me one for my bday so I received this webcam as a gift (August 07) - still perfectly working of course. Then my boyfriend tried it and decided to buy the same for him and one for his mum in Australia (Feb 08). Last week, I bought one for my parents (Nov 08). So yes, definitely we are fan! Really good value for money. The image is good quality, a microphone is incorporated. Easy to use.

I bought this primarily for the SKYPE capabilities and as suggested on the title - does exactly what it says. Good quality image for a budget Web Cam and clear audio thru the headset (the ear phone and mic is just bog standard so it remains to be seen how long they last however). All in all a good quality budget product.

My review is for the Hue webcam running on an Apple G5 Powermac running OSX Leopard.
Setup was straightforward. I ran the application which comes bundled on the CD install and moments later the drivers were installed and the camera fully detectable by the system. The bundled WebCam monitor software lets you record and compress videos to share with friends. Skype detected the camera and built in microphone immediately. I have also successfully used the microphone feature with Ventrilo and iChat. This is how I expect things to work - no fiddling with software or settings!
