I bought this item in good faith that it did 'what it said on the tin' but found out pretty quick that there're video out problems with both the classic and the touch. This is really not clear even in their own manual. Will stick to Apple products next time. Would have given no stars, but that's not an option.

I chose this adapter over its DVI brother as I wasn't sure if my external monitor supported DVI-D. The large end of the cable plugs into the VGA cable coming from your monitor - it's essentially an extension cable. Once connected the Mac recognises it straight away. Uncheck 'mirror image' and drag the open windows onto the external monitor for best performance. You can also choose where you want the menu bar and dock, either on Mac display or external monitor, regardless of where you have your open windows. All in all a great product.

This cable is as described. Original, works fine. So good in fact I've ordered another one. Sold and delivered for half the price of the same cable on the O2 and carphone warehouse sites. Can't complain.
I must also say I did buy a cheap copy cable first, from a difference seller, but this didn't work and am now in the process of trying to return that cable.. Don't waste your money on cheap copies and buy this original cable THAT WORKS!
Highly recommend this cable. I use it on my 3G iphone and my ipod video.

Just got one and had no probs setting it up with vista. Hardwired it with ethernet cable first to do the set up then unplugged the cable. Just using it for airtunes and it sounds great. Very impressed, might well get another to add sound to another room too. Have tried it in my attic room and it found the network and started streaming within 60 seconds!!!

It's 5 past 11 in the morning, and writing this review was the simple task of pressing my MacBook's power button... waiting 50 seconds... then going onto Amazon. It really was that easy.
And that just about sums up the life with a MacBook. Though I've been using Max OS X (Operating System Number 10) for over 2 years now in Graphics College, this was my first experience of actually forking out the money to buy one for my own personal use, which, as you will no doubt see, is joined by a hefty price tag.
Don't be put off though. Remember - this lowest spec MacBook is is just as powerful as many Hi-Spec windows based laptops! But what you're getting for the same price or a little bit more is the industry standard stability of ... Read More:

Once again, Apple take a fairly mundane piece of kit and transform into something that not only looks super-cool but works better than the everything else out there. Beautifully thin but heavy enough to be rock solid in use, supremely easy to type on and incredibly easy to clean, it has all the function buttons you need including perfectly placed iTunes controls plus a USB slot for your mouse to reduce the tangle of wires on your desk. It's also cheap. How do they do it?
