Lomo Lomography Clear Action Sampler KIT 135 mm Camerafrom: Lomo Cameras |

The lomography action sampler is a poorly made, highly marked up, piece of plastic junk. I've given other lomo products a lot of leeway given that we're not going for super-pure photographic imagery here, but this item is simply very poorly made and in my case, didn't even last the first roll of film.
The low-tech four shutter triggering system seems to be driven by a spring which resets when you wind the film on, which would be fine, if the entire mechanism had any type of quality control whatsoever. In my case, one or possibly two of the shutters get triggered then it whines to a pretty lame sounding halt... The viewfinder isn't very accurate and can result in disappointing prints. In addition, the viewfinder can easily break as it's just a piece of plastic screwed on. The 'scroll' to place the film in is quite flimsy and that can easily get damaged too. Also, you can only take pictures outside as the camera hasn't got a flash function.

For the price, this camera has a dissapointingly light feel- despite its pearly blue exterioir, it seems cheap and plasticy.
And it broke! The first film I got developed, only about 10 were exposed at all, and in only 3 did all 4 shutters open. I worked out that the shutters (which are powered by a 'revolutionary' drawstring)stick more often than not. The viewfinder is a plastic loop on the edge- which fell off. There is no focus of any kind. And in my case, it simply didn't work! >>More Details |

This is the camera that get me into lomography and I love it. I have to admit it is not perfect camera but without it lomography would not be invented. It is a real classic and full of history camera.
It is a compact camera but quite heavy as it made of metal. Moreover, the LCA is a manual camera so you have to adjust FOCUS and aperture which can be quite hard to get use to at the beginning. There are a new version of these come out LCA+ BUT Lomography.com decided to move their factory to China to lower the cost of it. Some said LCA+ is made with a lower quality material than LCA which I believe both LCA and LCA+ are really the same. LCA+ has new features add in from LCA such as B shutter mode. Verdict: ...
