Have now had this player for around 3 weeks and am more than impressed with it. I have it hooked up to my 32" Panasonic LCD which is`nt full HD just HD ready, but the quality of the pictures is simply amazing.
Setup is nice and easy and there are plenty of menus to tweak the player to your individual liking. One thing worth turning on straight away is the 24p playback, the is set to off by default, however you can only turn it on if your TV supports 24p Load times are pretty quick and varies from disc to disc but still a fair bit slower than DVD. The Panasonic DMC FS3 is an 8 mega pixels camera with a 3x optical zoom lens. It makes an excellent point and shoot camera that can be slipped into the pocket and taken anywhere. I got mine for taking on holiday and it's been very useful because of its size and the quality of pictures you get.
The Panasonic is very easy to use. This is a simple straightforward digital camera. Menus are bright and clear and all the key controls are at your fingertips. I was very impressed with the cameras focus under certain situations. One of the main problems with my previous digital camera was it couldn't always give you the best focus. This camera is brilliant because:
1. The zoom is amazing for such a small camera, and the wide angle is good too. 2. The picture quality, distortion and flash are all excellent (flash range is quite short but fine. The pictures have a truer colour than my old FX 9. 3. The video is excellent, HD, and the sound is perfectly okay for filming the kids and you can zoom whilst filming (nearly all digital cameras do not allow use of zoom or it is fixed whilst filming). 4. It feels pretty well built, especially given the features at the price. Some of the little doors are plastic, but sturdy. 5. It is not tiny or light, but it is only slightly bigger than the FX9. I'd been wanting to replace my BT Diverse phone with something else, and I chose the Panasonic purely on the strength of the postive reviews here on Amazon. Thanks everyone, you were right, it's brilliant! Having had it for 48 hours, I can say I'm really impressed with the simplicity of use, and abundance of features. Set up was easy peasy. Once I'd entered all my contacts into one phone (there's room for a hundred), I just selected, 'Copy All' from the menu and they automatically copied over to the second phone. The display is clear, and caller ID (if you've subscribed to it), is very easy to read. This camera is small and compact, we have been using it as a mini cam to make a tv show on SKY channel 413, "The Fast Lane"
Its very user friendly, zoom is super smooth. Picture quality is razor sharp in good lighting, darker lighting it doesnt cope with as well and picture becomes a little fuzzy like most cameras. Recording to SDHC saves hours of digitizing for the editor, you can delete shots you dont want. The remote control works very well. Build quality is rock solid. 5.1 microphone produces reasonable sound, the only thing thats stops this camera getting the full 5/5 is the fact there is no mic input on it. I am certain this is a high qulaity product, however what I was not aware of is that it does not accept Analogue Signal. As I do not have Digital reception in my region (and will not until 2010) this product is rendered useless for my needs.

Just like to say that PC World are doing these for £391.76 so if you want to waste your money at a totally usless store, thats the place to goto, they love making you wait for you to try to get some service but when you do find a member of staff, they seem not to know anything, why employ these people ?

I was wanting to upgrade from my old Fuji Fineix FZ4900 and so I bought this camera due to the rave reviews it received.
Well, I can honestly say in terms of realism and colour, this comes nowhere near my 7-8 year old Fuji! Yep, it's got intelligent this, and recognition that, but at the end of the day, the pictures look washed out,over exposed, soft and not at all vibrant. This is the second disappointment I've had with Panasonic as I also bought their TZ5 compact, and don't rate that either(see separate review) Maybe my eyes just don't like the way Panasonic cameras make pictures look, but please, before buying, go to a shop and try this camera out if you are thinking of buying it, and make sure it is to your liking. >>More Details |
