I have previously owned a single panel solar charger and it was garbage, the only think it would charge were my Bluetooth headphones.
This item however has charged my Nokia N95, Creative Zen Extra MP3 player, and two types of bluetooth headphone, all on one charge! If there's no sun you can plug it in to charge it up before you go out, and it will keep the power in reserve for you. My only quibble is I wish there was a definitive list of what it will and won't charge, as for instance it doesn't seem to want to power my Panasonic FZ28 camera, and I don't know if they make an adaptor for my TZ5 either, but that's my fault for not checking before I bought it. Been using it to charge up some electronic items I brought back from the US and it does the job fine (certainly costs a lot less than if I'd bought them over here, but that's another thing). Agree with the comments that it weighs a ton, but it's not really a problem - though can't comment on the power issues some have had as I've only been using low current devices.

This energy and power monitor does what it says and does it pretty well. I tried two different plug-in meters and this one was by far the best.
I didn't bother with any of the devices that are attached to the live cable next to the house's main electricity meter, as these can't measure actual power consumed (i.e. what you're billed for). Only plug-in meters can give you an accurate measure of this, though of course you can't use them to directly measure e.g. showers or cookers as they don't have a plug (with a little effort though, you can use the meter to work out how much energy one revolution of your normal electricity meter corresponds to, which you can then use to measure consumption for items like showers that don't have a plug). I had a lot of problems initially - when I used to try to charge one of two Nokia phones I have the device would switch off. The customer service people at Powermonkey were great though - and I got a new one sent out and have had no such problems. I leave the power monkey charging by day on a south facing window sill. Even in rainy England during the winter months I find that I have enough power to can recharge my phone every 2 or 3 days. So I don't expect to ever have to charge my phone from the mains again. Despite some negative reviews I decided to purchase it because of the price. I did not have any high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised when I used it. It works like a charm.
I plugged in my wii and xbox360 turned them on at the same time, wii running brawl at 480p, xbox360 running oblivion at 720p, there were no artifacts on my TV (sony bravia 37 inch), colors are still the same bright and clear.
