I had been using a generic card reader to write to my Kingston SD card and was having some problems with writing files -- often the process would fail halfway through for no apparent reason. Therefore I bought this card reader as a replacement and I can report that I now have no such problems. There's not much else to say about this card reader -- it is plug and play so works for me on Windows and Linux (the Windows software supplied with the reader is an optional extra if you want customised icons in Windows Explorer for different card types). The LED on the card is a constant green when ready and alternates between green and orange when writing to a card, not particularly useful but maybe something to look at. I bought this item to go with a sony camera for a relative abroad, making sure everything worked ok before sending it off...admittedly I didn't research the duo aspect so when the item arrived I thought nothing of placing the card into the adaptor. Well firstly my vaio laptop didn't recognise the stick, and it almost got stuck inside my latop. But my laptop can read the duo card on its own...so I tried to remove it from the adaptor...this proved very difficult...tried using tweezers...eventually had to use my teeth...now my laptop recognises the card. The spec of the sony camera says it takes both types...so will not attempt again to use adaptor...I believe most new items these days can read both, so there's no point in using the bigger version...hope ... What an excellent little device. Connects easily to the computer music can be dragged & dropped, so no problem loading the device. Will take an 8gb micro SD card, but takes about five minutes to refresh with a card that size. Radio works well. Haven't tried it with video as I think the screen is too small for that although very bright and possibly not a problem if your eyesight is better than mine. I only bought it for music and am well pleased with the product.

I don't see many of these and yet it is such a good idea. No need for a card reader at all, just fold it in half and plug it in to the USB port. It even has a little green light when it is in use. Superb! This is the second one I have bought.

As with a previous seller I haven't tested this product as a USB reader/writer, but as it's main function it is very good for viewing photos on TV. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is that it is a little slow to load full resolution images, however if you compress the images to 640x480 resolution (Very easy to convert a whole batch of files using irfanview freeware), it works excellently. Might be faster with full resolution images if a fast flash card such as Sandisk ultra or extreme is used??
