Most photos look crap when taken with direct flash. This item softens the light and helps make simple flash look better. Its never going to be a perfect shot, but seriously this thing should be supplied with all flashes and be a permanent fixture.
Direct flash is annoying, ugly and not at all flattering. Spend a few quid buying this for an immediate improvement.

The Paperwork with it states it reduces the Canon's indicated maximum distance by a factor of 2.5. Not sure if this is the case but I won't argue. It also states never use it in the normal straight ahead position except in TTL Mode. It states for best results use at 45 degress, as it's designed as a flash bounce I suppose most of us would know this already.
One final thing, I store mine on my flash, it is just a little too large (long) to fasten up in the case provided but the case is wide enough, but I can live wih that as it also affords protection to the Flash Lens. A ... Read More:
