I can spend hours on the phone for work and holding a phone to my ear is not an option, so I decided I needed a small headset or earpiece.
Being by Panasonic, the same as the DECT phone I use, I thought this would be an ideal partner. I was mistaken. The earpiece is all hard plastic, so it soon becomes uncomfortable in the ear. The speaker section which sits beside the ear is designed to be used on either the left or right ear, so that's good. Unfortunately it is very quiet. I am in a room all by myself with no ambient noise. Even so it was hard to hear some of the more quiet persons on the conference calls. I bought this so my daughter could use it at university. She has no landline and I thought connecting to an internet enabled laptop would be sufficient for Skyping. After some fruitless attempts and an 8 minute call to Philips (yes, a human almost straight away on an 0207 number) they confirm that it won't work without connection to a landline.
So it shouldn't be called Dualphone - it should be Normalphone with Skype. >>More Details |

As has been mentioned the display whilst readable, isn't that clear when viewed in the dark when the blue backlight is on. Changing the contrast doesn't help a great deal but is fine under ambient light. The rubberised buttons themselves also light up very brightly.
I bought the quad handset version yesterday for a good price & set up the remaining fully working older Philips Onis handset as a 5th phone - it looses functions such as answerphone access but can make & receive calls including intercom mode to & from the supplied handsets. Having left bad feedback,on some BT phones,I can't do the same for this one.After taking back three phones to diffrent shops,the Verve 450,is the one that came out on top.It's easy to set up,and just the same to use,even I can do it,and that's saying something.You do need the loudspeaker on to hear it,but it's only the press of a button.If it were possible to give it 10 stars,I would have.May be one day,BT will do phones with spell checkers on,then you may make more sence,of my feedbacks.100% to Verve450

I've spent money on VOIP phones and with VISTA bugging with them all the time decided to buy the Netgear. Plug in and use it - how easy? I'm impressed with it despite the dodgy ringtones. There aren't any alternatives yet unless you want to spend £100's. So if you want a phone that's permanently logged into skype regarless of computer being on this is the phone for you.

I thought I'd share my experience with this phone one year and some months on since I bought it. I'm back on Amazon having to buy a new phone because both the headsets that came with this phone bit the dust: I had been having major troubles with static and have checked the phone service, replaced all filters and cables still to no avail. And then BT informed me that it is my phone. The battery life is great but what is the point when you can't HEAR anyone due to the static? To boot, I bought this phone solely for the headset use and both handsets had problems with the headset - the prong for the headset on each handset loosened so I got really bad feedback if I even moved a muscle when I had my headset on. This is a well-designed and user-friendly product at a good price. Sound quality is very clear; my only reservation is that the base unit only flashes when a message has been received (I'm used to hearing a loud beep!)

I purchased the Siemens Gigaset C475 two weeks ago since my old cordless system was on the verge of collapse. Delivery was next day, at no extra charge - top marks for the seller. To be honest the phone has more facilities that I am likely to use, but I wanted the quality, and got it without paying exorbitant prices. The set up is very simple, and similar to a mobile phone, but without all the hassle. The clarity of the voice calls is superb, and the adjustable volume control very easy to set. To test out the battery life I left it off the rechaging stand. Four days and two hours later, after making several calls, and playing around setting up my quick call numbers, it needed recharging.
