I bought this item because the screen on my iPaq was broken when using the case it came with. I had the screen repaired and bought this case in the hope that it will protect the iPaq better. So far so good.
The case is quite good but unfortunately it makes the rather light and small iPaq 114 much bulkier. It has gone from the small, drop it in your shirt pocket PDA I had bought into a bulky Jacket pocket item which is rather unfortunate. It seems to be well made and you can use the PDA with it in the case. With my old iPaq I had to take it out of it's case to charge and update it so this is a step forward. I was not happy with the third party company who supplied the item (not Amazon)however.

I've used this for 18 months now. It's a great piece of kit, but it is not worth the £££ I spent on it. For the money, I expect something all-singing and all-dancing, not something that has me swearing in frustration at it's limitations.
If you're contemplating buying this, see if you can borrow a unit to have a go with. A cheapo sat-nav in a waterproof tankbag might be a more cost-effective option.

I bought this to use with my Nokia 6230i and it works perfectly on the phone. Transfer speeds when hooked up to my PC (Windows XP and Linux used) are a little slow but when combined with a decent card reader I've not had any problems.

instructions are poor and don't seem to have any relivance to the device with regard to some functions.
It's far to complicated to use easily.
I suggest using a notepad and pen instead or even the reminder facility on your mobile phone.

Yes it's big and if you can get by that point it's very quick. It will fit in an average shirt pocket. It becomes more useful when you consider third party applications such as a back up program as it doesn't have one built in.
Best to keep that data safe.
I used to use an ipaq 2200 but this is much more connectable with bluetooth and WiFi. When connected it's possible to read most web sites, though they can be a little big for even this screen so you have to use the scroll bars to get around. The screen is good to view powerpoint presentations on, due to it's large size. It also allows you to see more of the spreadsheet.
Speakers are a little poor for media such as music but with the screen size video is more possible. Having said ... Read More:

I bought this 2 years ago and have enjoyed walking with it ever since - combined with maps to plot out the route it makes walking much more enjoyable as you can concentrate on the scenery not the map - and you get the computer readouts of time walking, speed, mileage etc etc. The only thing is that the aerial is not very good and the signal disappears easily in woods(even in winter!) and other times so I'd recommend to buy the later version with a better aerial. And do I miss the maps? no! you don't need a busy power-hungry screen and once you have got the hang of what it is telling you about your route and tracks then it is like reading the stars...!

This device was purchase as a present for someone who enjoys crosswords. The thesaurus is really easy to use (just type in the word and press 'Thesaurus') and the device a good choice of synonyms, which is useful for writing letters or completing those tricky crossword clues! The device will even offer a definition of alternative words that it finds, which is useful if you need to double check.
The devices hidden gem however is the crossword solver tool. Just input a word (minus the letters you don't have), such as ?ER?IN?A?? and the device will fill in the blanks and list all the possible words that match that pattern.
The only problem with this device however is that it's too small. Fair enough; it fits in your pocket - but the buttons are ... Read More:
