I bought this last week to keep my son amused during a holiday and have been thoroughly delighted with my purchase. Having viewed several portable players in high street shops in order to guage quality, i did take a gamble on the evidence of the previous reviews not having seen the picture quality in person and have been very please that i did. This is an outstanding piece of kit.

I bought this instead of getting a CD player for my car, since most of my music is on my Creative Zen player anyway, and have had problems from day one. The sound from the tape itself is loud, the sound cuts out every so often while the tape clicks and makes loud sounds (maybe trying to switch sides), and sometimes after cutting out it comes back at a completely different volume, which could actually be pretty dangerous when it suddenly blasts out the speakers at twice the volume, as well as always having to adjust the volume instead of watching the road. The build quality is also poor - it feels cheap and the cable fibres eventually wore out meaning the volume and balance changes depending on how the wire's bent. When it is working, the sound ... I'm generally very please with the GT420U.
Pros: - Plays common music formats (MP3/AAC/WMA) and works well irrespective of folder layout. - Reads ID tags and displays well. - Good sound quality. - Great radio. - Easy to install. The single flaw that stops a 5-star review is that it comes with a remote control and this is needed to change the clock and take the display out of demo mode. This is a very good camera for the price. It is easy to handle and produces reasonable results. Unfortunately colours of similar tone have a tendency to blur and this can reduce the overall impression of sharpness.This would probably not be noticed on a 6 by 4 print, but would not be satisfactory on a A4 size.Serious photographers should look elsewhere, but a child would be very happy with it.

I bought one of these recently and have already sent it back for a refund. It was easy enough to pair up to my Nokia N82 and testing it in the house seemed to work ok. However, using it in the car proved to be useless above 50 mph as the tiny speaker is completely inadequate. I cant imagine anyone using this on anything less than full volume level.
The other big problem I found was that sometimes during an incoming call, you would press the answer button on the unit, and although the unit would stop ringing, (giving you the impression that the call is connected) it would go dead immediately, having failed to properly connect, despite the fact that your phone is still ringing.
