We have a few MP3 players and suchlike that charge only via USB or the mains. Each have proprietary ports on their case, and so all have their own unique USB lead. As for some odd reason MP3 players never have easy replaceable batteries like cameras or WalkMans of old, they always go flat on the hoof. So we bought this Sony in-car 12v USB power supply to recharge them in the car. We use it with a 12v multi 4 way car socket adapter to extend the 12v 'cigarette lighter' socket into the back for the kids. The USB charger has a very useful little green LED to say it's on [but the LEDs glow is sadly next to invisible in daylight]. The instructions do warn you not to switch the engine on [or off] with a unit charging as 'data stored on the portable ... Read More:

Being technically minded, I laughed when I read the other reviews listing the problems for this item. I have built and installed aerials for radio, TV and Sat systems and used many in-car FM transmitters in the past....what can anyone teach me about this technology? ... or so I thought.
I bought the new iPhone and wanted to listen to its contents in the car. Simple. I bought this FM transmitter, but as soon as I plugged it in, the iPhone suggested switching to "Airplane Mode" as it was identified as a non-compatible accessory. Airplane mode on or off, the appalling quality of sound could not be improved. Nor could extension wires, plugging it into the boot mounted power supply (close to the window mounted aerial) or even switching the car ... Read More:

Have had a Tunecast II which worked well but got broken, I immediately thought that version 3 of the product would be an improvement - how wrong can you be? The presets seemed to disappear after powering down, presumably because I did not have a battery installed and just used external power. I could live with that though, it is the constant auto shutdowns that drive me mad! The manual says it will shut down after 10 minutes of no signal, oh no - more like 10 seconds. The odd quiet passage, even at max volume, will turn it off with a very annoying couple of beeps which can come without warning - very dangerous. It is such a pity because the display is good and it is easy to turn on and off. Total rubbish Belkin - 0/10 go back to the drawing board and sack ... Read More:

I purchased one of these in early May 2007 and promptly received the item. I was disappointed when the vent clip broke when I first tried it out. I wrote this in my feedback but did not feel the quality of the product reflected the quality of service or the company. To the credit of KMS Direct and without asking, they sent a new holder and four replacement airvent clips when they read my feedback. It might not change the quality of the product, it's still poor, but it does reflect the attitude and the morals of the KMS-Direct. I wouldn't have any worries about buying from this company again. Thank you KMS Direct.

First I'll say I bought this for playing MP3's in the car, and it works well enough, adn I'm happy with it. The sound is reasonable to good* for this kind of device. However, it doesn't work (mechanically) in my hi-fi cassette deck in the house. I think it's because it turns too stiffly, and the deck hasn't the welly to drive it. The result is that it stops playing before it even starts.
The cord-tidy mechanism is very useful, the reason I chose this model. I wanted the wires well out of the way of the air-bag, so that if it triggers the passenger doesn't get a face full of MP3 player moving at supersonic speed. And it works well, though it was a little tangled and stiff at first.
Bought this based on previous review. Very disappointed mainly because of the poor performance. Could not get it to provide a decent sound. I then bought a Griffin transmitter and the difference was huge. Do not buy this product but the Griffin.
The holder itself is ok - but the arm and attachment to the window??? I would like to find one modern car with racked windscreen where this would be any good
