I own quite a few slow cooker cookery books and this one is by far the best. The recipes are easy to follow and taste wonderful. These recipes, unlike some in other books, have minimal preparation and can be left for the entire cooking time without requiring ingredients to be added half way though (which kind of defeats the object of a slow cooker in my opinion). I would recommend this book to anyone who wishes to make the most of their slow cooker.

I have used a slow cooker for 20 years and simply used ordinary recipes but very little liquid. I thought this cook book would have some fantastic recipes and was really disappointed. The whole idea of a slow cooker is to put in the ingredients and forget it. All this browning, stirring, adding, removing is for people who are at home with lots of time to watch it.
Useless and is now in the charity bag.

I purchased a dual rice cooker/slow cooker, mainly for the rice bit, but on looking for recipes suitable for a slow cooker I plumped for this book for starters. Unfortunately this book is just an updated version of an old book first published around 30 years ago, so the recipes are a bit "living in the 70s" (beef bourguignon anyone?). Slow cooking seems to be undergoing a bit of a revival, but we really need some new recipe books with more sophisticated recipes and flavours for more modern tastes.

I've only recently started having a go at making my own bread - and by that I mean a couple of weeks ago! However, I decided to invest in a couple of books so I would be able to make something different as well as basic plain everyday bread. And man am I glad I did it!
The book arrived less than a week ago and I've done nothing ever since other than make bread!
All the recipes are very clear, easy to understand and the sheer variety of them left me gobsmacked.
If you're thinking about getting this book, just do it! You won't regret it! I'm certainly glad I bought it.

We nearly never bought this book because of the previous reviewer. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MISTAKE!! This is a great book, it has several pages on how to make the pasta - but even better lots of recipes to entice you into trying that pasta maker! Lots of basic and more interesting recipes for everyone.

This is a fantastic cookbook. All the recipes are very easy to follow and quick to put together. It contains lots of recipe hints and additional ideas to spice up the dish. I gave it 4* because even though it's obtainable in the UK there are ingredients therein that you can't purchase here. So you either have to adapt it or not make it at all. Other than that there are lots to choose from. It offers comfort food recipes from meat, poultry to veggies and desserts.

If you're looking for a book which gives recipes in which you cook everything in one pot (as the title suggests), then look elsewhere. Many of the recipes would more easily (and quickly) be prepared using a pan and the hob. Many of them involve a fair bit of preparation before using the slow cooker.
I feel a little deceived..........

Almost every slow cooker recipe I've ever made has been tomato-based. Recipe books are full of slow-cook meat recipes and stews, but I was bored already, after just a few months of owning my slow cooker.
So I had high hopes for this recipe book and I have to say it has exceeded my expectations.
Firstly, the recipes actually are vegetarian (many of them are vegan). I say this because other slow cooker recipe books have "vegetarian" sections which are packed with meat stock, chicken soup, fish sauce and bacon in the ingredients!
Secondly, the recipes are easy and they work. Again, despite being pretty experienced in the kitchen, I've had the experience of embarrassing failures with other slow cooker recipe books. ... Read More:
