I made my first wedding cake from this book as a guide. I owned most of the cake decorating books but this one is very easy, less stressing and simple but beautiful. It's made with Buttercream which is more delicious than the fondant icing. It's a kind of wedding cake which is lighter than the fruit cake version and very elegant as a center of attraction for that special day. Very palatable looking that you don't hesitate to slice and serve it right away with coffee or tea after that heavy dinner.

Another brilliant cake book from Debbie Brown. The designs in this book can be approached by a first time cake maker or a professional. I make cakes for a living and own all of Debbie Brown's books, unfortunately for me not that many customers want saucy cakes which is a shame as they are a lot of fun to make. I recommend this and all of Debbie's books to people just wanting to make cakes for family and those running a business.

A very easy to follow recipe book, which includes not only the basic loaves, but a whole range of very tasty breads and buns. It makes you want to reach for your flour and apron to start baking. It is surprising how clear and easy the recipes are to follow, it intices you to try more and more. Then of course there are the cakes! it is difficult not to start drooling over the pages when choosing which one to bake. There is such a diverse range of both breads and cakes to suit most occasions. The only drawback i can find is the lack of photographs to compliment the recipes. that would have been the icing on the cake so to speak. It is an invaluable tool for any aga owner, or indeed an owner of any range cooker whether it is a two or four door model as ... Read More:

I'm a pretty good cook but I had never dared to tackle making chocolates until recently.
It was one of two books I bought to help me into the world of the amateur chocolatier and thank goodness it was. With detailed information on not only the 'how' but also the 'why' of every step of making chocolates this book has given me the insight, inspiration and courage to produce my own handmade chocolates, including how to make the various centres I'd only ever tasted in shop bought sweets before.
This book includes easily followed recipes and sumptuous photography that you'd want your own confections to match. The science in making confectionery is also explained and this information is what has helped me, so far, avoid making any ... Read More:

This is a great all round book with good layout and lots of nice photos. It covers lots of basic recipes so there is something for every occasion. I've made the Apple Cake twice and it is really delicious, and, importantly, looks good - making it all the more impressive when served to non-vegans. Not all the recipes call for egg replacer - lots give flax seeds as the main replacer or as an option. I would definitely recommend this book, along with Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, for anyone interested in vegan baking.

I have had a bread machine for nearly 2 years and have struggled to find any recipes that are easy to follow and more importantly produce great results. This book is amazing. There is a wide range of breads and things with lovely illustrations and simple instructions. A must for anyone with a bread machine.

I bought this book after owning 2 of Maisie's smaller books and I find the characters very funny. Maisie's sugarcraft ability is amazing and although I think the expressions on the characters faces are quite tricky to copy all of the cakes in this book are fun and can be made very well even with more simplified faces etc. The little school scene is delightful and the teenage moody shopper brilliant. I recommend this book, especially to people who like me, make novelty cakes for a living.

Another fab book from Debbie Brown. I own a few of Debbie Brown's books and she is definitely my favourite author as far as cake decorating goes. The cakes look very complicated but with step by step clear instructions and photos they are easily achievable by any novice or experienced decorator. The cakes that I have made have all been very successful and I am always busy - thanks to Debbie!
