Another brilliant cake book from Debbie Brown. The designs in this book can be approached by a first time cake maker or a professional. I make cakes for a living and own all of Debbie Brown's books, I think she has the best style of all the current novelty cake authors at the moment. The instructions are easy to follow and all the designs are very appealing. I would only put her 50 Easy Party Cakes book ahead of this one for kids cakes.

These cards have been most helpful. Ina is the true goddess. I also agree with the reviewer who ststed that it is unfair to give a negative review just because they cannot read descriptions properly. maybe they should steer clear of the kitchen as well!!!

I am American and I assure anyone who wants authentic American classic baking, this is THE book to have! I love to bake and have always preferred old fashioned recipes over more modern ones. There is something so comforting and pleasing about a dense and moist cake that tastes like it was Grandmother's special recipe. This book offers that and more. If you like maraschino cherries as much as i do (which is a lot!) DO try the maraschino cherry cake, HEAVENLY! I could sit here and rave all day long about how great this book is. Buy it, enjoy it and share your efforts with friends and family as I do. They will be most impressed! Thank you Jim Fobel for such lovely family recipes that are so delicious and a joy to make!

The book does not contain recipes for people with gluten or wheat allergy/intollerance; only an american free phone number to get help in getting the right information/books/help. I wasted my money and time! ps I agree: is very much for the American odeon! Degrees are in F and not in C. Very surprised to find a Pandoro recipe though!!

I have purchased other cookbooks form the 101 range and this one does not dissapoint. It is one of the best ones!
The recipes are not only incrediabley healthy, low in fat amd high in fibre they are actually tasty and very satisfying(properly filling and so tasty) ! I think that nearly all of the recipes contain at least one of your 5-a day fruit and vegtables some of them contain your whole 5!!! The desserts also have some PROPER but healthy deserts (not just fruit) like hot chocloate custard pots, and ginger compote cruch for example.
The sections are
Classics made healthy (really good)
Healthy mid-week meals
Feel good sides
Healthy meals without meat
Guilt free entertaining (looks like ... Read More:

This book does have some interesting recipies, however, there are no picures. I know this is not a necessity, but I like to browse through cookbooks when deciding what to bake. It's also useful to see what they are supposed to turn out like.

Oh god, what are you talking about 3 star reviewers???!!! I love this book, as does my mother - it's a great read and a great source of inspiration. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for something just a little bit different to the usual flowers, piping and fondant modeling you get in other books.
