Food and Drink : Food Adventures: Introducing Your Child to Flavours from Around the World

Food Adventures: Introducing Your Child to Flavours from Around the World

There are some great recipes here, sadly my little chap is dairy intolerant so I haven't tried as many as I'd like to but it's a real source of inspiration. I'm amazed that he chows down on garlicky lime-laden chicken and that actually he enjoys such spicy food. At 18 months he pretty much eats anything I put on the plate and I'm sure the fact that I tried some of these international recipes that other babies are brought up on has helped his sophisticated little taste buds (and yes I'm cherishing every day because I know it can't last!) I'ts a beautifully laid out book too.

This book is amazing and so true. One of my children is very sugar sensitive and she is transforming with this plan. The book is very easy to read (if a bit annoyingly American) and the plan is extremely easy to follow - much easier than the adult version. I now hate to see children being fed sugary food or simple carbs as I wonder what on earth it is doing to their brain. I am buying three more copies to give to friends so that their families can be transformed.

Loads of stuff here which might be of interest to the food technologist. No recipes or meal plans at all. If you want to make loads of notes and cross reference and spend weeks devising a meal plan, this book is fine, but if you're a busy mum to be, with little time to do this, not much practical help here

If, like me, you started out intending to feed your child only the best food but find yourself almost unwittingly slipping into allowing more sweets and crisps as "pester power" sets in, then this book is for you. I started out thinking the author was a bit preachy -- do we really need to know *why* junk food is bad, after all we probably wouldn't be reading this book if we weren't already aware of the issue? But it was helpful to have a reminder and once I read further into the book I found it really inspiring. The author has many, many practical tips for dealing with all kinds of issues that arise around children and food and although she takes a firm stance against giving in to children's whims, she also stresses the importance of respecting ... As a nanny I first bought this book years ago to use with my first baby, whose later emerging allergies meant everything had to be cooked from scratch. This book was perfect then and it still is today. My book is now worn and well loved, needs replacing really, and I've recommended it to several friends for use with their own babies, and they swear by it too. All the information is helpful and the recipes delicious, for adults as well as children. Good value for money and easy meals to prepare.
