This is a very simple, easy to follow wine guide paryicularly useful for people little knowledge of wine. It is in a very handy size that you can take with you to your Odd Bins, etc. The Best thing I found of this guide is the 'ALSO TRY' suggestions - you know what you like but may be it is too pricey, out of stock, or you just want to try something else that it may be slightly different.

While this is a charming book, it really doesn't merit the subtitle of "A Connoisseur's Guide". The background material in Part One is pretty basic and, if one is a connoisseur, quite old hat with nothing new added. Part Two does have an extensive list of whiskies and I did enjoy reading it. However, the comments are genrally brief and not to the level that might give a connoisseur new information. So, while this is a nice book, the implication that it is an advanced work takes away the positives. It is really more of a beginner's overview; one title among a number that have been published. Important to applaud is that the author is female; a bit of an exception in a subject area dominated by males. Unfortunately, it is becoming ... Read More:

I found this book excellent value. It is easy to use and contains enough useful information to develop an understanding of the health benefits of juicing. My only criticism is that it tends to use exotic ingredients in small quantities that are not easy to find and don't keep very well. This results in some very nice recipes that are perhaps a little more costly than they need to be. There are, however, a good number of simple but extremely tasty recipes to make the purchase worthwhile.
