I am so impressed with this book, I paid over and beyond the RRP to buy it because it is sooooooooo hard to get hold of, I have been trying for so long, my mother originally saw it on Richard and Judy, and asked for it for Christmas way back in 1997 - I couldn't get it, because it had sold out, and that has been the story ever since, When I finally got my hands on a copy I have been cooking non stop, these are the most delicious puddings ever, simple to prepare and a real nostalgia trip, Pudding is a great British thing, the rest of the world have their fancy desserts, but at the end of the day a good pudding of substance is real comfort food, the sort of thing you eat with the family after a good meal, the thing memories are made of.... Would recommend this for all cake decorators, some items may be beyond the scope of the novice, but the book sets the standard. Some brilliant ideas and all should enjoy it and aim to acheive some of the wonderful results.

Another diabetic cook book I sent to my Mum after her recent diagnosis of diabetes. As I live quite far away, its not always practical to visit, but sending a book has always been a way of me saying " Ello Mum, I'm thinking about you"
One thing she has, is a sweet tooth, and loves her deserts. She was concerned that after being told she had diabetes her diet would have to change, and although that is true, this book has pleanty of lip smacking deserts for her to try out.
A perfect present for a member of family or a friend with the condition, or buy it yourself, invite them round and make a desert that they will have no concerns about eating and enjoying.

Unfortunately the author writes to an American public and takes a lot of ingredients for granted and offers no substitutes if these are not found. There are a lot of ideas for using ice cream in entertaining e.g. make your own sundae-bar or ice-cream 'spaghetti with meatballs' April fools dish (I couldn't believe my eyes...). So basically I think this is a book for people who put entertaining before experimenting...
