I've already reviewed the Battery powered version of this product which I find amazing. However this rechargeable version has now just come on the market and I decided that for long term usage and saving on Battery expence to purchase it. Obviously, it's more expensive than the conventional model and might not be cost effective for somebody who only has a few cans per week to open, so you'll have to judge for yourselves.
I have't used it yet, but it says on the box that one 7hr charge will open about 30 cans. Good enough for me.

The arm is far too flimsy to cope with even the weakest of cans (Coke) unless they are well dented first. It can't cope with the taller beer cans at all. If you're going to go to the effort of practically crushing cans by hand first, you might as well finish the job yourself by placing the partly crushed can on the floor and stepping on it. This actually achieves a much flatter result than this gadget anyway. The arm snapped off of mine altogether after a week or so. Save your money.

I have had one of these can openers (in Chrome) for many many years and I have to say it was a little (and I mean only a little) difficult to get used to where the can should sit before starting the opening. I have arthritic fingers and can't use a manual can opener, my daughter bought this for me for mothers day and I have never looked back, it is still going. It really is Just Cantastic!!!

I ordered two of these for two elderly ladies I know who have arthritic fingers. One of the openers didn't work at all, while the other performed badly (sometimes it would open a can only partially).

Great product. Best can opener we've owned. Would recommend to friends and family. Give it a try, you can't go wrong for under a tenner.

It managed to make a hole in the first tin. After extricating it, with enormous difficulty (the rest button is "handily" inaccessible when it is stuck on a can) I tried a second can - it didn't even breach the can. Then it made a nasty crunching noise and is now in the bin.

Only received this product today but very impressed with its sturdy construction, especially after having bought another tin opener in Asda earlier in the week which actually fell apart the first time I tried to use it! My only adverse comment is that, as a left hander, I was very disappointed to find it is for right-handed use only. I am able to use it as I am a bit ambidextrous but suspect it would not be so good for "pure" lefthanders. That said, it is a really good quality piece of equipment and would definitely recommend it to right handers.
