Am really pleased with my purchase of this item. I use it most days - make porridge in the morning, cook grains like quinoa and millet to make salads for my packed lunch, steam veggies and the occasional ready meal in the steamer basket and have made some really lovely winter stews on the slow cook function. I've never managed to cook quinoa in a pan, but the rice cooker does it to perfection. Am really looking forward to experimenting further with it, and will try to make polenta using the porridge function tomorrow. if it was a bit cheaper, I'd buy another one (so that I can cook my stew and my grains/veggies at the same time). The downsides are small, but the non-stick surface of the pot is VERY delicate, mine has a scratch already and ... Read More:

I don't know why there is so much negative comment about this item. It is perfect for anyone who wants to crush an arm. I expect it could also crush legs and other anatomical parts if properly applied.

I bought this set as a real starter set. Never having scrapbooked before I was starting from scratch, and this set definitely had everything needed to get me going. A good selection of papers, glue, photo mounts...even scissors that were good quality themselves. The book itself is a large neutral brown, which is stylish and sturdy.
I tend to shop around and this was one of the least expensive sets that I could find - but it is not at all cheap in quality. I don't think the photo really shows the set off for the excellent value, impressive standard of product that it is. The Grill and Griddle worked fine for a few minutes, then the griddle seemed to loose heat.Found out afterwards it just wouldn't turn on. The grill worked fine...Shame, but returning it now to get a more reliable make.

Having been a user of the Brita Classic jug water filter system for many years there is no doubt that the Brita tap filter cartridge is much better. We live in a hard water area and there is very little scale in the kettle after 3 months. Using the jug system we had scale after 3 weeks. If no filter is used we get bad scale in the kettle after one or two weeks. As the other reviewer states there is no skin on tea or coffee when using the filter. We frequently get a chlorine taste in the water and so far this filter has removed most evidence of this. You only have to smell the cold water out of the normal cold tap to know that the filtered water has been cleaned up. Cooking vegetables in chlorine free water is much more pleasant. This is a brilliant product. I've had 2 cheaper types before it, so when the second one finally gave up I was delighted that my girlfriend purchased this one for me. To put it into perspective - I cant use this on the highest heat setting as it is too hot!
I hate washing up - so also highly recommended for those who want to pop the plates in the dishwasher. >>More Details |
