I cannot fault HENRY, infact I am on my second one. The first one lasted me 26 years and it had fallen down the stairs on several occasions, without a mark on it and still smiling!

The difference is in the design with this Dyson. You just have to see the detail. It's vastly superior to any other handheld. In fact, from Dyson's own website, I can buy any part, and make a whole new machine myself and without having to pay for costly repairs. What do you do with your old handheld when it breaks - throw it away and buy another one? Well done Mr. Dyson. It's a top product.
If you want a good price, like I did, then price watch a few places and wait for offers and deals to come by.
This is a machine for people who continuously clean all the time, as opposed to people who spend one single long period doing a more complete cleaning chore. The trigger is good too. That means the machine is only ... Read More:

I have owned my Roomba for about 6 months now. I was initially very impressed at the idea of having my floors cleaned automaticlly. However it is somewhat high maintenance in that the brushes and especially bearings need defluffing very regularly and the dust container is small and needs emptying regularly. The rotary brush is quite fragile and ours needed replacing quite soon after we bought it as something got caught on it. If you have small children who leave things on the floor then it is no good at all as the said small objects will either be "eaten" or get clogged in the system and stop Roomba working. It is really good for cleaning under bedsteads. Probably OK if you are able to keep you floors clutter free!!

I've usually only sold these, working in a shop that sells them, and I'd heard and read about how they work and how good they are. I finally bought one, and I am rather impressed.
If you use it every day, the results are impressive. It will struggle to make your carpet immaculate if you're using it for the first time, as it is designed to be used every day, thus preventing dirt from penetrating deep into your carpet.
Non-carpeted floors are where you'll see the best results from the Roomba, even from the first go.
However, I have a big thick rug in my lounge (and it is very thick, like shagpile or something... i don't know) and it often struggles to get onto that because of the corner brush. It can get onto it though sometimes, when ... Read More:

Had this a year or so. Been keeping it in it's original box on the landing to remind people of the need to hoover daily. Also easier to reach than when it's hidden - and always with excuses when they can't see the tool in front of them - "it's in the cupboard, thats far too far to go" etc.
Hasn't broken, the variable suction is nice. No need to wait to do the hoovering when people are sleeping, can just turn down the volume on it. Great.
Washed plastic top section once thorougly too with some fragrant shower gel and dried for a few weeks in airing cupboard. Hasn't become another smelly vacuum cleaner (dust smell) like the rest I've owned.
Fantastic.
I'm far more excited about my new vacuum cleaner than must be healthy. My carpets have never been so clean, it's compact and quiet. After buying an Electrolux that was always a bit rubbish and died after a year, I'm delighted with this one.

This is the first Dyson I've ever bought, after my dear Henry started to give up on me after 10 years! I read lots of reviews about which one to go for & I'm not disappointed I chose this one.
I don't have any animals but my own hair gets everywhere so I decided to spend the extra few pounds to get the Animal. I had new carpets installed 24 hours before the vacuum arrived and I have used it every other day since, I have already emptied it 3 times!! That's just in 2 weeks, it is amazing what it actually picks up. I hate to think what my old carpets were like, even though they seemed clean and I vacuumed regularly!
All in all a really good buy, I have taken a star away though, because of the hose-it is really annoying and does get in the way a lot. ... Read More:

It is compact and light weight, and moves around easily. Not too noisy, even when on full power, it has very good suction power and has no trouble picking up dirt, lint, graval etc, even picks up the dog hairs with ease. It is very easy to empty the dirt container, and even have air freshners to put in the container so when you hoover it gives of a nice smell. It packs away easily, the metal pipe is telescopic and you can adjust it for your height. I would recommend it for dog owners.

Bought this and took it back after one day - the main problem is that I am 5'10" and I found that the hose wasn't long enough for me, even when fully extended. I was getting back ache in just a few minutes due to leaning over because of the short hose. My other half is 6'3" so had more of a problem. The other issues are that I felt it was flimsy, that it didn't pick up too well on a carpet (tho good on hard floors) and had a small capacity. We bought the Bosch BSG71266GB instead which is £50 cheaper and found it instantly better.
