I bought this item some weeks ago and decided that before doing a proper review that I'd give it a good testing first of all to be as unbiased as possible. This morning - for example, I opened three jars which I was unable to open with my hands as I didn't have the strength.
This little machine is not only a "Must have" Kitchen gadget but also amazing as to how it works. It has two sets of jaws. The lower one clamps onto the jar and then the upper one clamps onto the lid and applies a 25lb pressure before turning in it's own axis. the tighter the jar, the better it seems to work..
Be prepared for a crack like rifle shot noise as the inside air vacuum is suddenly released from the tougher jars.
I was so excited about buying it and couldnt wait to use it, but when i did i was disapointed. Not once has it taken the lid off completely, you have to re-do it half way round.
I also find it very noisy like an electric mixer.
I brought one for my Aunty who has artaritus in her hand, for Xmas but theirs know way i would even give it as a gift now.
Hopefully in future it might improve. X

Hi purchased these luggage scales recently for a holiday to orlando florida. They were absolutely brilliant, very easy to use and accurate. We used them on the journey home to make sure we were not carrying too much hold or hand luggage, which in todays climate where air carriers are eager to screw every penny from passengers for excess luggage they were invaluable

I like useful gadgets in the home and decided to purchase what looked like an unique item. Generally I've never been satisfied with Vegetable peeler's until some months back, I found one with a sturdy thick handle and good blade. So I now have two.
This model takes 4 AA sized batteries and it't both pretty powerful and feels nice and chunky in the hand. The plastic blade cover is pretty useless and easily falls off. Poor retaining clip - actually zilch clip.
To give it a fair trial; I got two young female friends as well as myself to test both peeler's on Potatoes; Tomatoes and Apples.
They both liked the Electronic model but felt (as I did) that it had a distinct preference for working at it's own pace ... Read More:

For the price, this is brilliant set of scales. As one of the other reviews said, no longer do you have to bend down to look at eye level - its all there in front of you.
I particularly love the setting to zero when u have a bowl on the scales - great. I would recommend these to anyone yay
This does work really well and I wouldn't boil an egg without it now. The colour changes to black (or dark red) gradually from the outside in as the egg cooks, and you just wait until the edge of darker colour reaches the "soft", "medium" or "hard" markings, however you like it. Perfect results every time. We have extremely hard water, but I always use filtered water and have never had a problem.
However, a warning if you're colour blind: it might not be quite so useful. My husband is colour blind and he has trouble seeing where the colour has changed.

This is one of those gadgets that should have been bought years ago. The Vacuvin Wine Saver looked good and was one of the cheapest for sale on Amazon. Simple to use. Came with two plastic corks that fit snugly in all wine bottles. Several easy pumps with the wine saver thingy (looks like a corkscrew) and then a satisfying click when all the air has been vacuumed from the bottle. In my experience, uncorked wine up to a week old still tastes fine when saved in this way.

I've already reviewed the Battery powered version of this product which I find amazing. However this rechargeable version has now just come on the market and I decided that for long term usage and saving on Battery expence to purchase it. Obviously, it's more expensive than the conventional model and might not be cost effective for somebody who only has a few cans per week to open, so you'll have to judge for yourselves.
I have't used it yet, but it says on the box that one 7hr charge will open about 30 cans. Good enough for me.

Having purchased this item from the strength of previous reviews, I was disappointed to find that the ricer does not come with any extra attachments/inserts. I even sent it back and amazon sent a replacement but this also did not come with any attachments/inserts. As a recent reviewer has stated, there is no mention of any accessories in the product description therefore I also assume that the product specification has changed.
On a positive note - it makes excellent mash !!
