Overall great for rugs and general use. Easy assemble + lightweight. NB:bottles of rug & hard floor cleaner in box so don't order extra (yet). Great results after 1st use, good suction so quick drying. Tank easy to wash out, capacity OK, just don't expect to do the whole room in 1 tankfull. WATCH: drips if left standing. Not tried on tiled floor yet so will add review later.

Bought this carpet cleaner a few months ago and, as far as the machine itself is concerned, I am fairly pleased with the purchase. No, it is not a miracle worker and if you are faced with rather grubby carpets (moving into a new home, for example), be prepared to shell out quite a lot on shampoo as on deep-clean setting the stuff fairly runs through the machine - forget about the assurances of the sales staff that the 3 bottle pack will be more than enough for a whole house. Also, the edge-to-edge cleaning is a myth; it simply doesn't do it, so you are left with a strip of uncleaned carpet along the walls. Still, despite all this, it does a good job in cleaning carpets and I would recommend it.

After many attempts at getting our first choice.. a Vax, we decided to give up and try this one... it still took a while to arrive but well worth the wait.
Cleans everything it claims to, and well Leaves very little water behind.. so dries quick Two in one water (fresh and waste) system saves time Being an upright saves backache/sore arms Really does draws out deep dirt and grit Downside ?? I guess the cleaning fluids are expensive... buy there are great deals for it on Ebay.. All in all a great bit of kit I would recommend without any worries. >>More Details |

I've had this cleaner for less than a year, but it drives me crazy! I changed from a cylinder cleaner to an upright because we had new carpets fitted and I thought that the rotating brush of an upright would get them cleaner than the head of a cylinder vac. The machine looks great and has good suction but I find that although the lift out part is not so heavy, the whole thing still needs to be lifted upstairs (we have a lot of stairs) and it is incredibly heavy. The other things I don't like about this product are the small size of the dust collection unit, the lack of ease of cleaning the filters, the tremendous noise and heat that it gives out and the lack of length of the hose and the plastic tubes, plus there is nowhere on board the machine to store the ... We had previously had a cylinder style carpet shampooer, which was very heavy on the wrists, as it was difficult to keep the suction head positioned firmly enough against the carpet.
However, this wonderful Bissell Proheat is marvelous! The suction works without any physical effort at all and leaves the carpets in a condition to be dry enough to walk on, in a matter of a couple of hours. The cleaning heads are great, giving the pile a boost and helping to lift the dirt out of even the high traffic areas. The hand tool is excellent for working on stubborn areas and for cleaning upholstery. It's also great for dealing with small accidental spills, before staining happens.
