This product looks good - simple and streamlined, and does the job. However, as another reviewer has already mentioned, the glow it gives off is bright green - not even a hint of blue! When I first plugged it in it reminded me more of a spooky green haunted house type of light!
Aside from the colour, the glow it gives off is not too bright and after a night of it being plugged in it does not get hot to the touch which is great. I would recommend this item as long as you are happy with the light being green rather than blue. >>More Details |

I have just received two Philips Energy Saver bulbs as a 'free gift' (or something!) from my energy supplier, and, I have to say, against the Biobulb they are dreadful and, having started using them, I'll replace them with Biobulbs as soon as possible! The Biobulb has a 'naturalness' about its light that has greatly improved my living space since I used them to replace incandescent lamps a couple or so years ago. Naturally it uses a little more power than most energy-save bulbs, but that is because it is actually brighter, quite apart from the colour of its light tending to make it look brighter anyway.

I bought these as a trial, wondering if they would turn out to be a 'nice idea that doesn't work' - and I have found them to be great. I now do all my laundry with them. I use a Dyson washing machine, and maybe that makes a difference judging by what some other people have experienced, and have found these balls to be so effective that I now use lower temperatures and shorter cycles, all without washing powder or fabric conditioner and everything comes out clean, soft and smell free. Having said that I don't have really muddy or very soiled clothing so can't say if they are upto that, however I am really greatfull that I no longer have the expense and hassle of buying washing powder - it makes more of a difference than I would have thought, and have ... I bought this bulb based on advertising blurb as I had never seen one of these before. Having tried it, I have now bought 5 more from a company in Germany as they had a range of different wattages. I absolutely love it. Gone is the gloomy reddish light I have lived in all my life! Very close to sunlight; it does lift up your spirits, especially through these winter days. I thoroughly recommend this but a good idea might be buy a single bulb first to see how you like it. Not cheap at over £10 each but they pay back being low energy bulbs.

I still find it hard to believe just how like natural light the light from this bulb is. It is so much better than the yellow light of ordinary bulbs and I will certainly get some more of these.
