Had two now, found food to be excellent potatoes, vegatables, meat in all forms, but will not buy another one due to them both breaking on the catches for the lid, same fault both times!!!!!!!!

I am writing this review because I love the Tefal Quick Cup and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Both my husband and I use it on a regular basis and after 5 weeks we're still using the original cartridge which I think is excellent. As for energy saving then it remains to be seen if our electric bills go down, but at the same time as buying this kettle we did change all our light bulbs to energy saving ones, but in this climate I guess every little helps. The only downside of the Tefal Quick Cup is how noisy it is, but since its only for a few seconds per cup its easy to put up with. I have purchased and have personal use of this product. Ideal for anyone who has any difficulties in lifting a Kettle and/or having to stand and wait for the boil. Simple as pushing a button, cup/mug is simply placed on the worktop under the nozzle the pre programmed amount of water is dispensed into the cup/mug and that's it. I fill the water in the tank and can leave the device with full peace of mind knowing the extra safety of this product will take care of things!... I notice few reviews have mentioned the key advantage over a standard kettle.

Am really pleased with my purchase of this item. I use it most days - make porridge in the morning, cook grains like quinoa and millet to make salads for my packed lunch, steam veggies and the occasional ready meal in the steamer basket and have made some really lovely winter stews on the slow cook function. I've never managed to cook quinoa in a pan, but the rice cooker does it to perfection. Am really looking forward to experimenting further with it, and will try to make polenta using the porridge function tomorrow. if it was a bit cheaper, I'd buy another one (so that I can cook my stew and my grains/veggies at the same time). This iron has the features I wanted and some I didn't know I wanted. My last iron was heavy and I liked it, not having to press down. The bottom of this one is coated to make it glide easily which was not true with earlier irons. The turbo steam is really fierce which I think is a good thing. The ultracord seemed like a gimmick, but isn't - the cord doesn't bang my wrist and if I didn't like it, I wouldn't have to use it. The iron heats quickly, the cord is extra long, it's easy to fill and the base is very steady. I can't fault it.

When my wife dropped and broke our Bodum C-Mill Coffee Grinder, she replaced it with this item. It does the job well enough, and the snug fitting, generous lid is a good feature that allows you to tip the ground coffee into it before emptying into the cafetiere. The downside, however, is that every time I do a grind I'm left with the unpleasant whiff of burnt shellac from the grinder's little motor. I'd take back my old Bodum 5679 C-Mill Electric Coffee Grinder any day.

Chose this Kettle as we had researched many makes, models and designs and it suited our taste and decor, however after obtaining a bargain with both this Kettle and the matching toaster, we were disappointed to find that after one week the side window (displaying the water level and green light) leaked, covering the work surface with water. We obtained a replacement without problem from the retailer we purchased it from, however in a little over a fortnight the 2nd one leaked from the same place. It could just be a faulty batch or bad luck, but incase it's a design flaw we decided to opt for an alternative in the Prestige Deco range. Shame though.

This is a brilliant product. Well worth the money.
I adapted an old Cordon Bleu recipe using 3 to 4 ozs Flour, 1/2 tsp of Bicarb of sode, 1tsp of baking powder, pinch of salt I egg, seperated with the egg white whipped and put in at the end, 11/2 oz of melted butter and 7ozs of soured milk. It works brilliantly and makes about 7 waffles in the krups. Takes about 4 minutes to cook. >>More Details |

I bought this kettle purely because I thought it looked so good and I'm happy with it from that perspective. There were a few things I wasn't ready for, however, after a lifetime of cheap plastic kettles.
It's very noisy, so noisy you can hear it upstairs. I think this might be a feature of metal kettles since my mum's metal kettle is also noisy. I've got used to it but it's still a bit dramatic. The surface of a metal kettle gets extremely hot compared to a plastic one. This is obvious when you think about it, and there's no need to touch the metal surface, but I scalded myself slightly when I first got it. Nothing serious, just beware for small children. Tefal Ultra Compact VC1000615 Steamer, 3 Tier, Chrome BodyAm I just very unlucky or has anyone else had this experience with this steamer? I have had two of these. After about 6 months I noticed that the handle (which is affixed to the lid, presumably with glue) was coming adrift and was in fact hanging off. I took it back and had a replacement becuse I really liked the steamer. It has a good capacity reservoir, an external fill facility and the bowls are dishwasher safe - all essentials as far as I am concerned. I only had the replacement at the beginning of August and lo and behold the handle came right off the lid on Sunday just as I was about to dish up my veggies.
