I have owned this vacuum cleaner for around 2 months and I have not even cleaned the filter once and the suction is the best EVER. Hands down the best vacuum cleaner I've bought and believe me, I've bought quite a variety! They all seem to need their filters cleaning regularly and lose their suction really fast.
The cable is short at 6m long, but it's not enough to take any marks away because this thing is excellent! At £100 it's a BARGIN. I've spent £300 on vacuum cleaners that aren't even a quarter as good!
This is an excellent cylinder, and looks really stylish too. The Turbo Tool is great for picking up cat hair. Easy to use and store and even comes with a 6 year guarantee, should last forever !

I had the old Orange Vax carpet washer and that has lasted for at least 10 years, so I thought I would give this a try. I had my Dyson hoover for less than 2 years and after having Dyson's for the last 6 years, I was disappointed in the quality, it felt cheaper than they used to.
The Vax Mach 2 was a great buy and I paid less than £100 for it - a bargain! It has a little tool with rotating brushes, which is brilliant for picking up dog hair and also great for the car & stairs. Also, something I had not realised when I bought it, it has a 6 year guarantee. A great hoover at a bargain price, I would not hesitate to recommend it.

I bought this model around 6 months ago to replace my basic Dyson DC07 because after reading reviews it appeared that this was just as good as the Dyson. WRONG! - it is far too heavy and does not pick up anywhere near as good as the Dyson. If you use the hose, the cleaner immediately falls over, probably because it is so heavy. Anyway, I have finally given in and have today received my new Dyson DC14 because I could not endure the frustration of trying to hoover with the Vax a minute longer. What a relief!
PS - If I could give it 0 stars, I would!!

I have had a VX1 for 4yrs now, I think this model must have superseded it, but it seems very similar. I love my Vax, it is thorough, rarely blocks up, if it ever does it is simplicity itself to clear, if you should get something caught in the brushbar the motor cuts out, so it is a simple matter of pressing a button to reset it.
I have previously had a Dyson and had nothing but trouble with it, it blocked up each time I used it, it was fiddly and difficult to clear the hose didn't suck properly, The bottom plate was extremely difficult to get back on after removing drive belt to unblock the tiny space behind. Give me Vax every time. I have just bought their Dual V washer as well and am thrilled with that too. Top marks for Design ... Read More:
