Back ground music this is not! This album is full of extraordinary sounds and feelings that are powerful and strange. It is impossible to listen to this as background music, but if you enjoy music for the range of emotions and physical experiences it evokes you will love this album. Yes, there is the trademark Albarn waltz underlying "I love Buddha", and the more westernised tracks tend to be underpinned by thumping Gorillaz baselines, but this album is as strange and different as it should be. There is no English, but Mandarin, many of the instruments are strange, and the melodies are rooted in Chinese folk traditions. Being a post punk indie kid this album is very different to anything else I own.
However if you like laid back Damon Albarn & proper tunes this album is very good. Personally I think better than any of the Gorillaz material. >>More Details |

Just to listen to these little demo's make your toe's curl. The talent and idea's Damon Albarn has are truly amazing. It's one of these things I've always wanted to hear, how Damon, or any of my insperations begin to write such outstanding songs. On this you'll hear like... let's say the beginning of talented and wonderful songs. This Democrazy is so amazing, I cried when I first heard it. Everyone that feels shivers in their souls when listening to Blur, Or Damon's Mali Music, or even whatever music gets to you, you'll get so influenced by this. It's a must. Damon - Thank you for making this and changing mine, and probably many other people's lives. Not even a little spark in my body regrets buying this.
