Well, there's one thing that you can never fault with DragonForce - they are one of the, if not the most, reliably consistent bands around today. You pick any of their songs and you instantly know that it's DragonForce. Whether it's the soaring vocals of ZP Theart, the intense drumming of Dave Mackintosh or, of course, the ridiculously complex guitar work of Herman Li and Sam Totman, they just produce an incredible, power metal sound that is parallel to none.
And this album, too, is not one to let you down. The opening track, "Heroes of Our Time" delivers in all areas, the predictably upbeat lyrics; bouncing, happy melodies and, of course, the flawless, intricate and lengthy guitar solo, which lasts for a full one minute and thirty ... Read More:

There are not many discs, games, anything on here with 100+ (mainly positive) reviews so as a metal fan I thought this would be worth a listen. What a waste of money!
I won't argue with anyone about whether or not these guys can play as they undoubtedly can but there is more to it than simply playing as fast as possible. I struggled to find any hooks to the songs and it all just seemed to blend into one. I will stick with Megadeth I think, who almost always show how to put superb melody, harmony and structure into the racket that is speed metal.

This was the last album i bought of Dragonforce (the first being Inhuman Rampage) this is dragonforce's best album it's totally different to their other albums it's breathtaking not a bad track on it even the ballad Starfire is amazing. ZP's vocals are brilliant he sings really fast but you can understand him. Everything is so fast on this album i'm surprised they didnt die after this. One thing though the lyrics are quite cheesy but i dont mind too much as everything just rules on this album. The first time i heard this band i was obsessed with them for ages dragonforce was the only thing i listen everyone thought i was really weird for that but soon i realised i needed to broaden my music taste. If you have bought Inhuman Rampage and i hated the band after listening ... Read More:

I didnt know dragonforce were popular on amazon everyone hates dragonforce where i live it's annoying. I love dragonforce i have all 3 off their albums. This is different to Valley Of The Damned both brilliant every song is brilliant (well i'm not too keen on Dawn Over a New world still ok) the rest are fast heavy with amazing solos. The album Opener would probably be the best and Soldier Of The Wasteland my god that is feaking amazing 9 minutes it's a masterpiece. If you're only getting into Dragonforce this is a great start. Dragonforce are a wicked band. Must be heard by everyone.

Saw these guys live in October, and I was hugely impressed. They played the London Astoria like it was Wembley Stadium, with huge great ramps and cameras doing close-ups on the guitar solos.
If you haven't come across these guys on Guitar Hero as yet they are the masters of anthemic power metal, with absurdly fast duelling guitars, choruses made from 100% pure cheese, and a keyboard player with one of these keytars like Jean Michel Jarre used to play for his solos. This record and all of their others sound like they should have been release in about 1984 but I find it seriously heartwarming that people still make music like this. In an age when most modern metal if angst ridden misery, this is all about fun, and that's got to be a good thing.
