What a total load of rubbish! the songs are neither good, polished or suit Madonna's voice at all. Such a shame! as Confessions was such a brilliant album, to be followed up by this! All the songs sound exactly the same (except the only 2 passable singles that she has released already) I cant belive she is actually touring and promoting this trash! I think the days of timberland and timberlake trying to help the aged is over! Please no more! Madonna needs to get back to her roots and come up with a stylish pop vibe, thats what she is, The Queen of Pop, not the Dowager Queen of dross! I feel I have wasted my money. Dont buy unless you can convince yourself you will like anything she will put out!

Michael Jackson helped out alot on this album by designing a new CD lacquoring process. This made it possible for him to give his free copies of this album back to Madonna without her seeming to notice. Of course Madonna being a bit wise and very old didn't really know what CDs are and now always looks confused. The 'immaculation collection' actually refers to the immaculate homogenised grey appearance of collected belly button fluff despite it originating from garments of differing colouration.

Miles Away is without a doubt one of the real highlights of the Hard Candy album. With it's beautiful blend of synths and acoustic guitar it is classic Madonna but with an interesting twist in the form of Timbaland/Timberlake's trademark beat-box backing. With particularly poignant and heartfelt lyrics, its sentimentality represents a nice juxtaposition to the more 'in your face' approach of the previous 2 singles from the album. It's a real shame this single has only had lukewarm airplay on the radio and pretty much complete lack of promotion due to the well-documented events in Madonna's personal life at the time. Possibly some of Britneys finest work on this album. Every track bar 3, on this record has massive single potential. Toxic, a Grammy award winning Uk #1 single, written by Cathy Dennis, will go down in history as one of the most infectious songs in the world of pop. Me Against the Music, will always be remembered as one of the biggest collaborations in the history of pop music, seeing the Queen of pop Madonna teaming up with Britney, the Princess of pop. And we have everytime, another #1 in the UK, and a raw example of how stunning Britney's voice is when stripped back. GHV2 sums up Madonna's singles from 1992 to 2001 from Erotica, Bedtime Stories the Evita soundtrack, Ray of Light, Beautiful Stranger and Music.
What I like about the album is it's artwork and the jumbled track listing. What I didn't like about the album is the editing of quite a lot of tracks. However, not all the singles are here and there's no new music either but if you're a Madonna fan who's enjoyed the hits from the 1990s, then this is a good start before you venture further with the albums. >>More Details |

I love Madonna's music.
Even though she changes direction so often with both her sound and image,I ALWAYS buy her album without even reading reviews or listening to previews because I can almost GURANTEE I will love it(and you shouldn't listen to reviews all the time because the critics seemed to hate American life,but I personally think it is some of Madonna's best and most personal work). And despite owning ALL of Madonna's albums... I am NOT a crazy Madonna fan,who just blindly worships her like some idol. I don't think she has anything close to one of the 'best' or 'strongest' voices in the music industry but I do think she has an incredibly versatile voice that seems to suit whatever she sings well.
