Just how many more albums can Radiohead make of such quality? Other bands become very samey, or try to change and fail. Somehow Radiohead manage to change whilst staying the same and keep producing top quality albums. This album just gets better and better with each listen, and in my view a Radiohead classic already.

after listening to the bends little over a year ago which is the first album i thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. I heard about o.k. computer which was allegedy superior this astounded me because i thought the bends was as good as it got. Welllllllll after being somewhat sceptical i sampled a few songs and was addicted to airbag and intrigued by paranoid android but hadn't ventured any further for some ludicrous reason after a few months i finally had the sense to play the whole album a little overwhelmed as this was an experience that i was complelety unfamiliar with i didn't know quite what to make of it a few weeks later i replayed it making sure their were no distractions words can't describe how blown away i was on the second, third, fourth, ... This album proved that Radiohead could produce excellent radio friendly rock music.
It is full of brilliant songs. My favourites - Fake Plastic Trees, High & Dry and Street Spirit. Thom Yorke's bleak lyrics we have become so familiar with are present in here but perhaps not as obvious as in the later albums due to the strength of Greenwood's guitar in most tracks. It seems as though the band proved to themselves with this album that they could do the "Britpop" album. You have to admire them for moving on the "The Bends", which was very successful, to the more challenging directions taken in later albums. What a aweful way to listen to radiohead! The albums are each intense and individual in their perfection and individuality. Go buy the albums, avoid this sell out rubbish at all costs.

Pretentious or brilliance? This is one of the most divisive albums of the decade, amoung both critics and fans. One thing is for sure though, this album will make no sense to you on first listen. Nor the second, third or fourth listen for that matter. But listen to it and eventually it will unfold in front of.
Lush sonic sounds, eerie vocals and minimalist lyrics make for a haunting and emotional listen. Kid A, once understood, is captivating, listenable and capable of giving you that funny feeling you get when you find an album that really takes you. This album will always have its haters, but that is to be expected when such a large band make such a drastic musical change. Sorry but I have to say there are a lot of elitist Radiohead 'fans' who seem to think they own the band and less knowledgeable need to be kept out. Well apart from their parents all fans started somewhere along the releases and these fantastic tracks will spawn another generation of fans.

Ok, this is not Radiohead's finest moment by any stretch. But if for one minute we forget OK Computer and The Bends and all their other albums and concentrate souly on Pablo Honey, it's a masterpiece. There's not a single song on the album that is out of place or lacking in energy and spirit. Yes, Creep is overplayed and overrated, but that doesn't stop it being a fantastic pop tune - something that even Radiohead cannot claim to have properly done since. If you put this album on expecting OK Computer, yes it's going to fail and probably go in your bin, but if you put this on expecting a decent guitar pop album, you won't be disappointed. Sorry, but this is terrible. A few years ago I bought a few Radiohead albums and listened to them chronologically. I gave up before I got to this one, but my daughter pulled it out of the cd rack so I thought I would give it a spin.
Its awful! Really, really bad. Consistently bad too. Most Radiohead albums can be forgiven because they contain a couple of brilliant songs in amidst the quagmire, but this turkey is pure 100% quagmire. Buy for an enemy. >>More Details |

This is a truly underrated album. At first i hated this album, but as the sensational Radiohead always do, i was sucked in by its brilliance. This album is up their with their best work. From the kick up the arse that is 2+2=5, the dreamy sail to the moon and the simply breathtaking There There this is a top quality album from start to finish. Back drifts also took me several listens, as well as Where I End and You Begin before i realized their greatness. There is something about Radiohead that i cannot put my finger on that sets them apart from any other band. Maybe its their intelligence, their lyrics, their originality, Thom York's insanely good voice or Johnny's magical guitar playing. ignore the negatives surrounding this box set as even though they are not remastered and look as though its a cash cow by EMI since Radiohead have released new material for downloading for whatever price a fans pays but this box set is good value for money as most shops would sell each album for under redicoulous prices and getting all seven albums for thirty pund is a real bargain.
