Music : The Priests

The Priests

by: The Priests

Best Selling > Music > All Easy Listening

The choice of programme was excellent. The voices of the three Priests, although, I think, untrained, were brilliant. What ruined this for me was the constant background of the Vatican Choir (the heavenly chorus). To my mind they added nothing, in fact, in some songs, they out-sang the three priests and, again, to my mind, they ruined the songs. Listen to any other "cross-over" band, in particular, Il Divo, Amici Forever, etc, - no "heavenly chorus" in sight. The Priests can stand alone so why don't they? The Vatican Choir did not help them. As a matter of interest, as they are Priests, are the proceeds of the sale of this CD going to them, the Catholic Church or some very deserving charity? Hope to a charity and hope that this will ... Music : Sacred Arias

Sacred Arias

...and again and again.

There is no progression in her selection or style. She is just a singer of songs and after six albums of the same thing words like staid, formula and predictable come easily to mind.

This album is a setp backwards and the most deflating of the lot...a re-affirmnent of formula over progression. Maybe the change of record label may stir something but as it stands she will be successful, talented, rich and very dull. Surely dull is the most damning criticism that can be levelled at an artist.

I bought this album today and its the best album I have heard in a very long time.

Russell Watson always comes across as such a lovely man and has had the most traumatic time of late but oh my god his voice is just amazing and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate what he has overcome.

I had always associated Russell with opera and it was only after seeing him on a couple of tv appearances singing some of the songs from this album that I had this tingling sensation and thought I needed to hear more....I am so glad I did.

The songs are great and his voice is breathtaking. You will really want to get up and join in and sing along with him to songs such as 'Heaven help us all' and Try a little tenderness' ... Read More:

Music : Incanto

Incanto

by: Andrea Bocelli

Best Selling > Music > All Easy Listening

This is an outstanding album that finds Bocelli in wonderful voice. There's not a bad track here, with the emphasis on the great Neapolitan canzones. If one discounts Caruso as THE singer of such songs as a native of Naples, they have seldom been sung better. The song selection is excellent, with every one having a high "hummability" factor.
Bocelli appears to be a tenor at the height of his powers. The ending to Funiculi Funicula is breathtaking but a mere precursor to brilliance with the extraordinary D flat that ends Because. The latter is far from a "lounge" song as the Amazon review suggests, having been done by any tenor with his salt from Caruso through Gigli, Lanza and Domingo. I've not yet heard anyone take the final note with such gusto and ... Read More:

by: John Barrowman

Best Selling > Music > All Easy Listening

John Barrowman's rise to fame has been meteoric, and it is not too hard to see why. The performer's addictive and charasmatic personality shines through in everything that he does, and his latest album is no exception.

Some would categorise it as an "easy listening" album, appealing to an older audience, but make no mistke; this is by no means a lightweight release.

The title track "What About Us?" is a relentlessly catchy song, delivered expertly with by Barrowmans clear, silky vocals. Gary Barlow's arrangement is equally stunning, framing a remarkably restrained and powerful track. A refreshing return to "proper pop" without the un-necessary "Powty X Factor Contestant - trying too hard - warbling" style vocals which seems so prevalent ... Read More:

The 50th Anniversary Album

by: Cliff Richard
November 03, 2008
Best Selling > Music > All Easy Listening

Great tracks on this CD although they have been released many times the songs still sound ace and for me the early Cliff and the Shadows tracks were the 'Dogs Biscuits' and brings back the musical soundtrack of the 1960's together with the Beatles and Stones, I won't go into the merits of each track (hooray you shout) but I will order this CD even just to annoy her indoors. By the way I am listening to AC/DC Back in Black CD what a ace CD, while am writing this, anyway back to Cliff this CD is worth buying for less than a tenner and it also has some of the more recent tracks.
Go on do yourself and also order AC/DC Back in Black CD at same time as Cliff's new CD (forget Guitar Hero listen to the real thing or at least buy a guitar and try to learn to play) ... Read More:
