If you like trance/chillout albums the likes of which resemble Enigma, then your want to add this to your collection, but if your looking for something authentic, and original, that helps you feel the mood and spirit of the native american tribes and cultures, then stay away from this cd, because you will be disapointed.
However i will be recommending it to my friends who like a chillout session after a long nights clubbing

After discovering this extraordinary womam at WOMAD 2002 i was instantaneously hooked. Even though i have limited understanding of the Spanish language, what she is trying to say comes out through the shere brilliance of her music. This is one of the best records to make its way across the atlantic in recent times. A recommended buy.

Great Album with a huge variety of interesting musical and philosophical themes. Excellent sound quality and production throughout. If you're in to new age electronic music you'll love the first couple of tracks - sensational. The rest sounds slightly off the wall at first but grows on you errily. I spent an entire evening with this album playing repeatedly while I was doing some housework and found it slightly mesmerizing.
To my mind Claus Zundel is one of the most consistently interesting producers out there. If you don't know his music check him out - any B-Tribe album or in any of his many guises. You're in for a real treat. Peter Taylor

The entire album has a haunting and beautiful sound. Wonderful for mellow evenings at home, with good friends and good wine, or just for those special moments with your partner. The music has a spiritual feel about it and reaches right into the heart of your soul. The artists are Cherokee and have written much of the music themselves, though I gather that they have had many songs passed down to them in the Cherokee tradition.
The artists are Rita Coolidge and her sister Priscilla Coolidge and Priscilla's daughter Laura Satterfield. They sing many of the pieces a cappella style though there are instruments in the background and bring in instruments as amazing as bagpipes such as in the Cherokee version of "Amazing Grace". I fount the CD "the heron smiled " by annie humphrey to be the most beautiful and inspiring album i have heard. Being a pagan and following some of the native american traditions i can understand why annie has produced a CD that can help people understand her heritage and the way she feels about her ancestors . But its not just about the americans it also conjures the feeling of love , passion and self love and many more mixed emotions - so i would like to say thank you annie for producing a CD like this one.
