Now 70 is a collection 43 tunes which have done exactly that. This is a good CD with some catchy songs on it, but they can get a bit boring after a while.

The best of the best (although some may argue the worst of the worst) of the chart world arrives at us in the form of the 60th (has it really been around that long?) edition of the world-famous Now series and when its good, its very, very good but of course, when its bad... cd 1 starts off with the spectacular (if slightly old) What You Waiting For by Gwen, Sunset Strippers' Falling Stars and Kylie's christmas no2 I Believe In You. No1's from Mcfly (the cheese-tastic Comic relief single All About You) and Nelly feat. Tim Mcgraw with Over And Over follow with other chart-toppers on the album from Ciara with the awful Goodies and Girls Aloud with the cringing I'll Stand By You. This is very good CD, but has a few catches.
Nearly all the songs are quite good, with a few brilliant ones, such as 'Golden Skans''Foundations''Destination Calabria''Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors' and 'Heavyweight Champion of the World'. With 45 tracks (and available for 2.99 pounds at "another online retailer" as I type this), it would churlish to not admit that this compilation is pretty good value if you can find it at a cheap price. Unfortunately, double CD various artists compilations often suffer from "mixed bag syndrome" and this one is no different. It covers quite a wide range of musical styles, so there's bound to be at least 5 or 6 tracks here that please everyone (although not necessarily the same 5 or 6!).
So whilst I think "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'", "Chasing Cars" and "Never Be Lonely" are clear standouts for me, other people might prefer other selections. I can't really give the compilation high marks though, because there are some stinkers (Hasselhoff shouting ... Read More: >>More Details |

Tracks listed are not tracks on original release (most likely an error). If this is truly a reissue of NOW 1 see the cover image for bands/artists. I have had the cassette release of this since it was issued. If this does indeed come out in 2009 as originally issued in Dec. 1983 - this will be a fantastic 80s compilation. 5 stars if releases with tracks found on original release!

I guess with any 'Now' cd there will be tracks we don't like and fortunately (for me) they're all on cd2! But cd 1 is worth the money anyway - every track is good - give cd2 to somebody else!

Let me start by saying I am not from the UK and i don't know most of these songs.I bought it at a virgin megastore on vacation. Some of the songs are kinda weird and boring like love generation or nine million bycicles but others are fun and catchy like push the button or i predict a riot. Here's how i rate the songs:
