It's the first time I've revisited this album for a while. I don't really think of myself as a Green Day fan anymore, but this was the first record of theirs that I heard. I then bought them all up to, and including Warning (which I thought was terrible). I won't be buying American Idiot.
So I just thought I'd peruse the reviews while listening to it; there's a lot of talk of punk, but I don't see anyone mentioning The Clash anywhere... or any of Green Day's predecessors. That really shows the generation that Green Day appealed to. I'm pretty sure I was 16 or 17 when this came out, and it became standard listening for myself and all my friends. I started my first band, and we would cover Basket Case and Welcome to Paradise. So it ... Read More:

'International superhits', (like most bands best of's), is probably the best place to start with Green Day if you're new to their music and want to hear more. You get a pretty good selection of their hits, as well as some more obscure stuff. At 21 tracks, this album has plenty to offer and I defy anyone to put on 'Basket Case' or 'When I Come Around' and not crack into a big grin. This album showcases what a good rock band should be, simple, loud and fun. You can't ask for much more than that. Well worth a try.

I am a fan of sum 41 and this isnt really Sum 41. They started of as a Punk band(Half Hour Of power), and then started of doing Pop -Punk. I still think this a great album all the songs are great well written and some very good guitar solos, but they sound very similar to Blink 182. The reviewer below me saying it's a boy band with guitar i wouldnt blame him from just hearing this album i recommend everyone just getting into Sum 41 buy their debut Half Hour Of Power, Does This Look Infected & Chuck those albums are what sum 41 are all about good old rock. This is great but other stuff by sum 41 is better.

I swear you will not find a better summery album anywhere. Put this mix of punk and ska on and you can feel the sun shining even in the middle of winter.
Please don't be put off by the fact that the band are called Rancid, even if you are not into 'punk' this album is amazing musically (especially the bass playing).
This album has to be one of the best i've ever heard, so do yourself a favour and buy it.

"Dookie", when it came out, reminded me of early Who, who were a local group where I grew up. After hearing the CD, especially the cover of The Isley Brothers/Lulu's "Shout", in the light of their own "rock opera", "American Idiot", I wonder how they would do "Tommy". It's certainly, to me at least, an interesting proposition. How about it?

i got this when i was at university and for that i will always hold a special place in my heart for it,its blink 182 at their most anthemic, most vital and most fun,its an album that is packed with classic after classic, its impossible not to love songs like dumpweed, dont leave me,aliens exist, the aptly titled going away to college,as i was in another country for university, whats my age again and adams song, the remaining songs are all good as well, there isnt really a bad song on here,it isnt life changing music by any means, and of course all the songs tread the formula that nofx helped create but its all good honest fun,who can complain about that?

This album is amazing!!!! I bought the album AMERICAN IDIOT back in 2004 and loved it - my favourite album EVER. So I decided to invest in some other albums that Green Day have made.
This album has lots of amzing songs on it, he best being 'Good Riddance(Time Of Your Life)'. 'Scattered' is a cool little pop-rock tune with an excellent chorus. The song 'Take back' is one of the grittiest songs Green Day have done with the lead singer verging on screaming during certain parts of the song. 'King For A Day' provides a song with refreshingly different lyrics and a good chorus.
I think that is what makes this album so excellent: Green Day cover lots of different genres of rock so there is something for everyone. NIMROD is one of the best albums ever ... Read More:

but why buy this you may ask? well because it is about the best and rarest blink 182 album you will get your hands on i got into blink by buying greatest hits because i love punk (sex pistols r cool) which i never regreted and then i saw this under new and used section and was blown away by the qaulity not one note is out of tune or pitch or anything like that but my favourite song is the studio recording of man overboard on the live album that song rocks i also like the loads of funny chatter from tom delogne and mark hoppus travis drumming as good as ever amust buy you won't regret it i know i havent

This album is good. It features the best song Blink 182 have ever made; "I Miss you". This song has perfect pacing and metaphorical lyrics with deeper meanings. You MUST hear this song before you die. Mark Hoppus and Tom Delonge both work together very well on this song; their voices contrasting perfectly.
The rest of the album is a little bit shaky. Some of the songs are great whearas some are bland and forgettable. "Violence" has a pointless intro and a questionable layout but features an excellent chrous which more than makes up for the errors in the song. It's a fun song but is it excellent? I'm not sure.
"Down" is a good song and was released as a single. It has a good chorus, but what makes the song great is the excellent conclusin ... Read More:

This is a really fantastic record, lots of pacy frenetic guitar work & some quality tunes throughout. It lacks the production of "Out Come The Wolves" & seems to have less of a ska influence than "Life Won't Wait". The predecessor to "Let's Go" its a cracking high octane punk album.
I would suggest that this is a difficult album NOT to like & if you are a Rancid fan it's a must buy.Quality record from a quality band.
